Re: Russian Comfrey Fert

i got some in and got 3 in the ground that had sprouted leaves while still in the bag in my veg closet because i was saving them for a few days just in case armadillos like this stuff and anyways the were out the yesterday and all night last night and i looked at them today and the leaves are on the ground wilted.... does this plant not handle Texas heat well because were sitting at about 95-100 regularly in the summer....

Re: Russian Comfrey Fert

So I read the posts about doing it with seaweed and nettles and even the oak leaves. What about doing it with leaves from a tomato plant? Or basil, or anything like that? My mom has a small garden outside, and if stuff like that could be used that would be great.

It depends you should probably research if those plants contain anything good for your plant (N-P-K)

I started this thread to help people achieve the same remarkable results that I get using Bocking 14 Russian comfrey. I do not know what may or may not work using oak leaves or any old rubbish.

Re: Russian Comfrey Fert

hey cantharis, I was curious as to the NPK ratio of the fert product. Is it higher in N like vegetative nutrients or more P as in flowering nutrients?

Cantharis, I have a question about storing the comfrey bottles. Is it ok to leave them outside but in the shade in the Summer? Thanks.

Also, can the comfrey burn the leaves if it's poured on them by mistake? Thanks.

Don't really know. I keep my bottles in a garden shed. They seem unchanged after being stored for months.

I'm sure I must have done that many times. Never noticed any ill effects.
