ive read that by adjusting the ph of the soil you can influence which type of nitrogen (nitrate NO3 or ammonium NH4) is predominant in your soil. from what ive read some plants prefer NO3 to NH4 and vise versa. does anyone know which type is prefered by cannabis? please forgive the spelling.

Thats for the plant and microbes to decide.
Use a fine quality compost and let the pH and nutrient issues be taken care of by the microbes
