2K, 4 plant, Vertical Scrog

  1. This is amazing! I will definitely go with a vert. grow, no doubt, you think a 400W bulb will do the job with 4 plants?

  2. Wow So Patch u would definitely say that the vertical SCROG is better than the horizontal SCROG ????

  3. with one 4oo you need to do a weed donut you could just your light would realy be good for a 1x1x1x1 area like the tops of the plants and keep them 6 inches from the bulb.maybe even 4 inches

  4. Yes there are people already doing that. Like Maina says it would just be proportionally smaller. I think that with a 400w you would want the main stalks directly opposite each other to be 3', that would give you 18" from screen to bulb. With 1000's its 5'. I think that you could light 2' vertically. That would give you about 16 sq ft of bud instead of 8 with horizontal. So you could set something like that up in a 4x4x4 footprint. Show us some pics.:)

  5. I don't know about better for every situation. But I do get more yeild out of the same footprint and per plant than what I can do with the same plants in a horizontal scrog. Imo its the combination of increased sq. footage lit and the fact that you use the whole plant as opposed to taking all the lower branches off as in a horizontal scrog.

  6. This means alot coming froming someone with your experience and knowledge.

Would also like to publically thank you for sharing these things with us.

  7. Hey Briar Patch,

Very nicely done! :hello: That's an interesting technique - chock full of possibilities.

I'm waiting for the dry weight figure on those four girlz. From the looks of things, it should be awesome. :D

  8. I will definitely go that route. I'm saving up for all the equipment I will need, and head straight for a vertical grow. I'll keep yah updated :D.

  9. Ok time for the harvest pics. These are showing a progression of the harvest from the screens.

  13. What a great grow, vertical needs to become more popular so we can have more threads on the subject.

    Total weight dry?

  14. would you happen to have a few more clearer pics of the full plant before harvest. also thank you for broadening my horizons.lol

  15. Nice roots Briar.

  16. 3lb 13oz.

Hey someone else that enjoys root porn. Thanks man.

  17. That's crazy yield right there, and it will only get better. Hope to see more of your threads in the future, really enjoy reading. Keep up the great work. :D

  18. Did you add a myco supplement to that plant with gnarly roots? whats ur soil mix? water source?

  19. No, there are no mycos added to this one. I took this pic because I'm testing coco as a medium. What you see in the pic is 65% coco and 35% perlite as the base. It seems to me that you can use it interchageably with peat. By that I mean you can add amendments in the same way and they also can be mixed together with no adverse affects.Coco comes with a certain amount of available K that peat doesn't and it drains a bit better. In this setup the goal is to get 6' plants in 9 weeks time from rooting through veg to stay within plant count limits. In order to do that I need to mix a soil that can be watered more than once a day without suffocating the roots. The roots in that pic were in a moist medium from rooting at 3" tall for 24hrs a day for 6 weeks at that point the plant is 3'. 2 and a half weeks later that plant is 5' and a half, will probably hit the target.
I use RO water. Here the the well water comes in at 440 ppms so its something I have to do. Some people have great water right out of the well. I'd reccomend an RO machine if you think your water is suspect though.

  20. HowdY BP Okay, I haven't been out and about in a bit but it sure looks like you've been busy mate! I'm gonna go back to the beginning and see whassshappen'
