Vocalist; Gotta be a tie... Ben Gibbard (Death Cab)/Robert Plant (Zeppelin)/The black chick that did the middle section of The Great Gig In The Sky on PULSE

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/e10aKSV5aaU&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e10aKSV5aaU&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Guitarist; Again, could never decide between Gilmour or Hendrix or Page. I just can't.

Bassist; Flea

Drummer; Bonzo... but as someone else said, Chad Sexton is a damn good drummer.

And here's one you didn't ask for;

Lyricist; James Marshall fucking Hendrix.

If you think that Victor Wooten and Les are the only two bassists that should be considered you should check out Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Larry Graham and other bassists who influenced the greats of today.

Bumpin' this thread up 'cause I like it and want to weigh in:

Vocals: Elvis Presley, the King, hands down.
Guitar: Come on, man. It's Jimi, but Jimmy wouldn't disappoint either.
Bass: John Entwistle.
Drums: John Bonham. No matter how hard Jimmy Page was rocking or how awesome Robert Plant was singing, John Bonham was in control of Led Zeppelin.

Vocalist: Chris Cornell

Guitar: David Gilmour

Bass: Les Claypool

Drums: Brann Dailor (Mastodon)

I don't think these would sound real good together, but individually, each is a master of his art of the highest caliber.
