to anyone who has heard this song, what do you think he's talking about? i mean when i heard the songs a couple years back i liked it (though i wasn't into marijuana at the time) .... anyway i started smoking and i hear it again and i start to listen to it again for a brief perioud. anyway time goes by and i start to really research mushrooms at the shroomery as i am interested in trippin out on them for the first time, listen to the song again randomly and it really sounds like the dude is talkin about a baggy of mushrooms and not weed...... i donno , what do you guys think? here is the lyrics btw:

i was always under the impression he was talkin gabout the insightfull benifits he got from weed, but now that i know some things about mushrooms and other hallucinegens, he seems to be ryhming about a full-blown psychedelic experience. im not going to disect all the lyrical content and tell you what i mean.... it just seems he is talking from the spirtual, "egoless" form of the shroomer (russle) and then speaking through music. he seems to speak of the liberation, and then the sense of familiarity.... how it gives you a greater understanding and appretiation for life, .. anyway there is more ... oh and the "righteous with one token" i assume he means "toke" .. so i guess that goes toward weed... although smoking marijuana often intesnsifies a shroomers trip....... so who knows what he was meaning.... i donno opinions? i like this song a lot... just bored figured i'd post and see if anyone could help me udnerstand...

They are a band in the sense that a bunch of different people recorded parts of it. The main vocalist is Damon Albarn from Blur, the rapper is Del the Funky Homosapian, the girl's voice is Miho Hatori of Cibo Matto, and there's tons of others who had smaller roles.

As for Clint Eastwood you have the lyrics really, really wrong. For example it's not "Gunsmokin' righteous with one token", it's "gunsmokin', righteous with one toke..." which is a refference to herb.

those lyrics were pulled off gorillaz official site.... so whether they're completely right or not .. i'd assume so, but who knows... i know they're right for the most part tho

But in the us radio version they censor out the 'toke' part. Why would they do that if the word was token?
