| Can anyone answer this question? What the HELL happened to "Rap/Hip Hop"..?
It's like..Sick, almost in a way. Lil wayne, for example.. In my opinion, is just a sellout. Tell me, can you seriously say that this song would be considered "Rap" .... He sounds like a damn broken toy. What happened to this, or Real shit. Does anyone else feel the same..?

Hip-Hop/Rap goes through changes just like any other kind of music.. from 2000-2009 there was a lot of emphasis on the South and their style of music.. Repetitive hooks, dance music.. It's what was different and new at the time.. But just as the South and their music came into prominence, so will other kinds.. Also, it seems as tho the industry started emphasizing the Gangster look and image so much that that's all the anyone was putting out.. And if you only focus on one kind of style and limit the artists you're putting out to only A certain style, that really stiffles innovation which we all saw happen with all of the whack music coming out.. But trust me, Real music will come back into the spotlight again where it should be.. just give it a little time.. Change doesn't happen overnight.. There is still good music coming out tho, you just have to know where to look. Here are some people to listen to.. Blu, Wale, Kid Cudi, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, **Charles Hamilton**, Asher Roth.. It depends on what you're into but there is a good start.. | |

its just like every other music genre it had its time as the "trend" but this decades coming to a close and with every new decade comes a new style of music. its all been done, its all being redone, its all getting old so its all gonna stop pretty soon and a new genre will take over life goes on

Its because they all use pitch shifters in the vocals now. It all sounds the same. Remember that cher song do you believe in life after love? Yeah it wasnt cool then and it isnt now. It just lets anyone be able to hit any note. And i hate to say it but kanye west is a bitch. He jumped right on the bandwagon too. Old rap was good but it ia dead and gone. there is NOTHING new worth listening to....

He himself even stated that his latest album was a different kind of Genre, Pop Art. Not Rap. So that artivle really has no relevance to your argument.. And as for him biting Lyrics.. That video has no fucking relevance either.. The first part, Where Kanye supposedly Jacks the part from 50 cent's song in da club talking about stacking money up.. LISTEN TO THE FULL SONG.. What that video failed to reveal is that Kanye says "50 told me, gon' head switch the style up, and if they hate then let em hate and watch the money pile up" Which obviously isnt a bite because he's saying that 50 told him that, the very one that made the song, and this was also during their Sales feud so it makes sense.. Why Don't you actually Listen to West's music before making unsupported Claims and using other's people's biased opinions and form some opinions on your own before jumping on the Hate wagon.. Any true Hip-Hop head will tell you Kanye West is a beast and In my opinion a musical Genius.. | |
