MUCH props for starting this thread with Ann Peebles. That song is amazing. another equally dope song is "in the rain" by the dramatics. also, "(feels like) breaking up somebody's home, and "I'll play the blues for you" by albert king, and "season of the witch"-i like the bloomfield, cooper, and stills version, but there have been many good versions . check that dramatics, though, me and my homie Claude 9 are in a weed-centric group called the green brothers (insert shameless plug here) and we almost sampled that track for the new album. we decided against using the sample, but its ok cause the song is just that dope that it needs to stand on its own.
oh and that shameless plug-album is droppin at the end of sept..STICKY FUNK VOL 1 is the title. all based on funk and jazz samples from my collection, claude 9 made the beats and raps, i do scratches. lots of instrumental and scratch tracks. songs about weed, and other things related to being a modern pothead. wooooooord
