I'm looking for a program kinda like garage band so i can start making some cool sounds. Anyone know of any programs that are free?

I've been browsing around the internet lately with this same question in mind...

I've read that Reason is good. I tried downloading the new version of Fruity Loops w/ a crack but I got a Trojan Horse lol!

theres a program called acoustica mixcraft, its damn near the same as garageband. Ive been playing with it for a few days, its neat.

is there a way someone can send me Fruit Loops without a virus because I dont want to risk getting a virus downloading it in uTorrent.

audacity is going to be by far your best bet if you're looking for a free recording program. fruity loops is more along the lines of a computerized beat machine.

I've searched for a long time and never found a Windows program that has all of the features and ease-of-use as Garage Band. I wish Apple would release a Windows-compatible version, but that's not gonna happen. I have Fruity Loops, I've just been too lazy to figure out how to use it. It's not as self explanatory as Garage Band.

I got Fruity Loops (FL Studio) from this site, among many other programs:

Its a forum, and you do have to register, and then reply to a post to unhide the links. At first it gave me trouble, but they are virus free and almost all work. I literally had FL Studio installed on my computer via Zip file (not torrent) in a matter of minutes

Fruity loops is garbage....Sony Acid pro music studio is a nice program and very easy to use. Reason is cool to but pretty complicated to use.

how is no one jocking audacity? that shit is so much better than any other free program. all the rest are just fucking trial versions with limitations. just get audacity dude. its a dumbed down version of most unfree programs.
