I love when artists/bands play an hour+ set of around 4 songs live. It's the perfect amount of time for exploration

long songs are some of my favorite. thats why pink flyd is one of my favorite bands. echoes, shine on you crazy diamond, alan's psychedelic breakfast, and dogs are all amazing long songs. i almost forgot about voodoo child and layla- these 2 songs are worth mentioning.

I can only do over 8mins of a song if I'm at a show or in the zone to listen to said song. I was listening to Bob Dylan on my itunes the other day and the song "Desolation Row" came on and it's a great song but after about 6 minutes I was like wtf where's the next song, and I had forgotten that Desolation Row is like a 12min song!

Morning glory does the long songs amazingly. Most of their stuff clocks in at about 5 minutes and some goes over 18 minutes, i know what u mean though, just the creativity to stretch a good song out that long is worth the listen.

I listen to alot of jazz/fusion and alot of the songs are 6+ minute instrumentals.

Phish - Guyuti is a great 8 minute song

try NOFX's 'The Decline' for an 18 minute punk song.
