Anyone Like YES?

Man. I first heard them like 30 years ago.

Now I have Close to the Edge on my iPod. So I'm listening again the other day...they're STILL freakin amazing. They're pure and undefiled by post processing wizardry. They refuse to conform to the popular formulas. Music theory cannot restrain them within the bounds of chords, modes, or keys.

There will never be another.

i don't know much about Yes. i do like what i've heard though. and i know they were a major influence on Dream Theater, whom I really love. by the looks of that logo i would think they have some psychedelic stuff.. which i was not aware of?

and sorry to be off topic.. but you're a minister and you do drugs?

Yep, I'm seeing them live this September.

Their music is definetly unique. Close to the Edge, The Gates of Delirium, Starship Trooper, they're all incredible. (Those are my top 3 songs by them).

Man I can't wait to see them live though, seeing their performances on YouTube, I'm really excited about it.

I have just about every album on vinyl. I'm really diggin' Relayer right now, but Close to the Edge and Fragile are definitely my favorites.

Prog rock, represent.

You should check them out. If you like DT you'll love yes. No, I don't party anymore.

I just started listening to them recently. They have a lot of good songs and good albums. They have a lot of used yes records at my local record store for anywhere from 50 cents to 5 bucks. talk about a good deal. they are in pretty decent condition too.

besides the fact that none of their songs is about anything in particular and no 2 verses are actually related to each other? Yes, of course.

I just had to bump this thread.

If you've never heard Starship Trooper, you must listen to it now.

My god, it just might be the greatest song ever made.

I've spent the past few hours listening to Close to the Edge, Fragile, Relayer, and The Yes Album.

They're just a little too good....
