drummers!!

What do all you drummers do to improve your skills?

I have a loud stereo behind me and I just blast some led zeppelin and I just copy what john bonham does.

I'm not a real drummer, but I have a knack for it. Yeah, I just listen to various songs and try to imitate something within my skill level. Oh yeah, and throwing punches around for awhile seems to help with my speed.

put on some jazz and zone out the drums... do not copy them but instead play along, play a beat that works with the music, try to start doin this with zeppelin but dont copy bonham. hes good, but if your copying your not imporvising, instead find another beat that works

Learn some different styles.

hiphop, swing, jazz, bassa, samba, funk, afro-cuban (Clave's), raggae, list goes on and on.

those are some of the styles iv learned over the years and its greatly improved my playing.

Besides, if you ever wanna do a job you'll know what you're doing.
