Depends on what type of person you are...If you listen to lyrics then there are quite a few good records for starters..Hiphop is something amazing if you truely open your mind...here is a list for starters to appreciate and understand hiphop
Jedi Mind Tricks-''Violent By Design'' (group vinnie paz,jus allah, &stoupe one of their best albums) KRS-ONE-''Edutainment & Return of the boom bap'' (Introduction into some of the basis of early political lyricism) Typical Cats-''Typical Cats'' (Group Qwel,Quazarr,Denizen Kane...more diverse as far as styles from spoken word to battle rap a evenly distributed amount of style over this album good for introduction into hiphop'' Common-''Resurrection'' ( Highly suggested listen....give ''I used to love H.E.R'' a listen.) Binary Star-''Masters of the Universe'' (Group One be Lo,Senim Silla... Another REALLY good record one of my top personal choices.) Chino XL-''Poison Pen''-( Wow amazing wordplay a true self discribed ''wordsmith''...A true lyrical genius his metaphors will devastate your thought process.) Gangstarr-''Hard to Earn''( Group of one MC guru, and dj premiere.....They have alot of good albums but this one is a personal favorite of mine) Big Punisher-''Capital Punishment'' ( takes a few times for newbies his word placement and his usage of multies in his rhyme scheme is entertaining and impressive) Just a few if your looking into further progression of knowledge into hiphop send me a pm of whatnot..peace |
