Red Hot Chili Peppers Appreciation Thread

A tribute to one of the greatest bands to ever rock the planet. I have grown up with RHCP playing in my head since I was 6 and they have been a huge part of my life. They have helped me through hard times in my life while making the good times even better. One of the main influences in the music I write as well as one of the main reasons I got into music in the first place, I salute you Anthony, Flea, John, Chad, Hillel, Jack, and yes, you deserve some credit too Dave. 21 Years and still going strong. Life may come to an end, but Music doesn't.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are my absolute favorite band of all time...I was fortunate enough to see them play live in LA at the Great Western forum and it was the best concert that I have ever seen. I hope that they hit the road again soon!

Check this out if you haven't seen it yet...

i saw them 6 times on their last tour worth every penny

the best was when they Played with Mars Volta in, i believe it was 2002 or 2003...when Mars Volta hadn't released anything but De Loused and Tremulant EP and they had the original members so they actually played songs instead of on this past tour when they had an hour and a half of almost incomprehensible jamming (which was alright..i'm not gunna flame them cuz i know they lost their drummer mid-way through the tour which is why their set seemed a little half-assed)...but on the tour a few years ago Flea came out and jammed with them it was so sick...cuz he played bass on De Loused

Slane Castle is amazing i ripped the audio from it so i could put it on my iTunes

The Mars Volta opened for RHCP when I saw them play...it was one of those times where they did nothing but jam for an hour and a half and their sound was HORRIBLE!! It seemed like they had too many instruments on stage and they couldn't pull it all together. The Chili Peppers came out and sounded very tight and wonderful...it was such a great feeling to hear 20,000+ singing their hits!

yea this past tour (2006) was when Mars Volta lost their drummer in the middle of it..the new drummer only learned 2 of their actual songs, so they played those an then just did random jamming for the rest of the time...it was kind of a disappointment cuz i had seen MV 3 times live befroe that and they were unreal..i tripped at one of the shows...so i was expecting a lot at the Stadium Arcadium tour...either way the Chili's live show makes up for anything that could possibly go wrong in a day....after seeing them live its like you're high for a week

Hell yea, RHCP are one of my favourite bands, I've got their whole discography consisting of 26 albums, and a whole day of music on my PC!

Yea I agree, their new stuff just doesn't seem as funky. I like a few songs from their new album but nothing beats there old stuff like Blood Sugar Sex Magik, By the Way, Californication etc.

His house was burned down but he wasn't living in it at the time....he was living in another Malibu home about 15-20 minutes away.

The house that burned down was for sale at the time also.
