HOLY SHIT! Just saw Herbie Hancock...

Wow, oh wow. I can't even describe how amazing it was. His group was with Lionel Loueke on Guitar, Nathan East on Bass and Vinnie Colaiutta on Drums. Gonzalo Rubalcaba openned the show with a solo piano set and then joined Herbie's group for the last few songs. Totally mind blowing the whole time. The man can still play like no other.

Wow...

FUCK you saw Lionel Loueke?! I missed BOTH of his trio's gigs in the city...first one I didn't know about ($5 cover and $10 minimum) and then the next week they raised the price to $20 cover, with the $10 minimum (which I couldn't afford).

Herbie is one of the creators of the modern jazz voicings and chords that currently dominate the scene. His songs have becomes standards themselves. Must bow down.....

Dude, Lionel Loueke did a solo piece where he did African throat clicking in 9 while tapping polyrhythms on the body of the guitar. Than he looped that and started singing and harmonizing with himself.

When they played Actual Proof I almost lost it. Herbie was sounded better than ever and the band was so killing. Madness...

Herbie is an example of a dude who keeps on learning. He was amazing when he started, and now he has developed his sound over the decades. Some of the shit he does is otherworldly...give me chills.
