Favorite Guitar Solos?

When im high, i wanna hear shit shred. But i dont want a whole song of just one long Guitar thing, a lot of my friends are metal heads but always want to give me like some old ass people to watch do solos, yeah thats all cool but i want songs.

Darkest Hour:
Sounds The Surrender
Last Dance Massacre
Convalesence

I want songs with some sick solos, Hendrix, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Darkest Hour.

Anyone got some suggestions?

the solos in:

metallica - unforgiven
metallica - the four horsemen
metallica - one
megadeth - hanger 18
Death - scavenger of human sorrow

pretty much all metallica, all megadeth songs have SICK solos, mos of which ive attempted to learn to play (not very well at that)

Well, it's not a guitar solo but...

John Paul Jones solo from All of My Love on the organ fucking OWNS!

But back to guitar solos...

Clapton - Old Love (From 1992 MTV Unplugged)

I'll try to think of some more but seriously listen to that Clapton song...it is fucking unbelievable...they almost didn't play the song because Eric didn't like it, but they threw it in and it turned out to be one of the best songs in the concert if not the best.

The live version of Rory Gallagher's "Calling Card" guitar solo is pretty intense.

To many to list, most of mine are from live Jazz bootlegs of Kurt Rosenwinkel, Bill Frisell, etc.

A few classic ones that come to mind are John Scofield's solo's on the early Chris Potter record Unspoken. He rips it on every track, most notably Amsterdam Blues and Witsful. Sco's solo on "wee" from enroute and "not you again" from Works for Me both stand out to me.

Wes Montgomery on "Impressions" will always be one of my favorite solos on any instrument. Pure mastery.

Bill Frisell on the Paul Motian records "Monk in Motion" and "On Broadway" is breathtaking. Unreal playing. So simple, yet unbelievabley challenging.

Pat Martino takes some amazing solo's on an early record of his "El Hombre". He absolutely destroys the standard "Just Friends".

Kurt Rosenwinkel takes some of the greatest solo's you'll ever hear on most of his records, most notably Deep Song and The Next Step. His live solo's are unreal.

Countless Joe Pass Solo Guitar solos. the whole album 'Virtuoso".

Many other solo's by the likes of Jim Hall, Adam Rogers, Jimi Hendrix, Wayne Krantz, Guinga, Grant Green, George Benson, B.B. King, so many more...
