So tell me about dubstep

  1. So these past few months I've been hearing a lot of shit about dubstep. A couple friends introduced me to it, and it kinda grew on me.

So, now I need some good dubstep to download for tommorow. I'm new to the genre so I don't know many artists, but I love this music. Help me out.

  2. if you're new you should def check out skream and bassnectar
there are loads of lesser known producers that are (arguably) better but to start you should definitely at least have them

  3. Mt eden in its entirety theyre really good.

    Downling- gamma ray
    Rusko - cocney thug
    Cragga - Mr postman
Calvin Harris - Im not alone (doorly remix)
    Bassnectar - LSD
Nero - most stuff he makes is good

I dont like all of the stuff ppl are putting out there and calling dubstep.

some is just too over the top and boundry line annoying noise.

  4. Btw there is a HUGE thread FULL of dubstep.

    Use the search fool!!

  5. I've been hearing a lot about dubstep lately (mainly on GC) but really have no clue what it's about. I think I Googled it once but didn't find out a whole lot besides that it's electronic music that originated in the UK in the late 90's or early 00's. Anyone care to explain it in more detail or link me to a song or two?

  6. "dub" they're adding bass "step" that dancy almost two step beat to it.

on remixes they might take out the bassline, "dub" there own into it and add wobble and diff. affects to it. like this one.

    original

    dubstep

  7. Ya.. I second that! Dig the remix of La Rouxes "In For The Kill" The original with the pop synths kinda blows..

  8. hahaha i'm wearing a deadmau5 right now...win?
    sweet remix too

  9. I have an unfinished deadmau5 head Im making for halloween ahaha

  10. Try downloading Mount Eden Album by Mt Eden. It isn't your 'typical' dubstep but I find it a lot more listen-able compared to other stuff. You could probably say it's mainstream dubstep.

  11. Hell yeah dub is best..
    <----- name n all x]

if you wanna get into it, i dont really know specific artists to suggest cause a lot of shit comes under dubstep these days and maybe some of it shouldnt. but a good place to start is the mary ann hobbs mixes and the dubstep allstars, you'll get a wide scope of the genre from there. personally i'm really into burial, rusko, skream, rout, hatcha, benga & bar 9 at the moment.
