Rap before 2000>Rap after 2000
I'd say the best year for rap was 1994 (biggie and Nas debut plus Wu-tang just a year before)

whatchu talkin bout
I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to feel connected
enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired, to fathom the power,
to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,
to swing on the spiral
of our divinity and still be a human.

To me the mid 90's were probably the best but I don't really like comparing years because it all has good stuff. But '09 was a good year for me period so I guess i liked that year
