Re: Paranormal Activity anyone?

I saw it, not in theaters though.

I think it was decent. I had pretty low expectations so I was pleasantly surprised.

The first half of it was a little too drawn out, but I think for the simplicity of the movie it was actually pretty effective.

Re: Paranormal Activity anyone?

well after seeing this thread, I decided to watch it. it's ok. but it's not "the scariest movie eva!!!1" like the previews said

I didn't get scared at all. and to my understanding, there are two endings. I seen the one where the girl is just rocking back and forth
and SPOILER i'll put in white text.......then I guess she stabs the dude and the cops shoot her. then that's the end. lame as hell

i wanted to see the other ending but i couldn't find it. but The Forth Kind looks awesome.

Damn... I'm glad I found that out before paying (wasting) good money to go see it.

Blair witch style movies are lame, imo.

If you wanna see something REALLY creepy, check this shit out:

YouTube - 'The Fourth Kind' Trailer HD

EDIT: Just the previews for that give me goosebumps... It's got clips from the actual investigation that was done... Fuckin bugs me out, man. I hope it's as good as it looks like it's gonna be. I haven't seen a movie that's ACTUALLY scary since I was like 4-5 years old, lol.
I hate to burst your bubble but the "evidence" behind The Fourth Kind is total bull shit. If you try to find the case studies that the movie claims it is based off of you won't have any luck, and you won't be able to find any record of a Dr. Abigail Tyler either.

It's not the first time hollywood has pulled something like this, it still may be a good thriller, but it's ruined for me now. Fucking Universal.

There are three endings.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

1. Girl goes downstairs kills guy, comes back upstairs, throws his body at the camera, sniffs him like an animal and then just walks up to the camera with her face like the other exorcist girl and then smashes the camera.

2. Girl kills her boyfriend downstairs, comes back upstairs and slits her throat. ("gory ending")

3. Girl goes downstairs, guy follows her after she screams (only same part in all 3 endings), you assume she killed him, she comes upstairs and just sits in a little ball next to her bed for like 3 days. During that time her friend comes to the house but you only hear her, she finds the body and f.cking bounces. Then the police eventually come to her house, go upstairs find her she gets up with her knife and says about finding her boyfriend and runs at them and they shoot her dead. It ends like right after that.

^^^
How was there three endings?

I only saw the first one in the theater. Were you supposed to sit in the theater and wait for the other two or something?

The second one would have been a little better.

I wouldn't really say it was scary, but I thought it was fun.

On one of the first nights in the movie, there was that loud bang that startled me and made me jump, and from then on I had that goofy smile on my face just waiting for it to make me jump again.

And I think it was pretty cool to see how well they pulled it off for being so low budget. I also liked how they didn't have any like... CG ghost appearances or anything, 'cause that tends to end up really lame most of the time.

All in all....thumbs down.
I guess to each their own a horror movie to me just needs elements of horror/dark/gore/suspense/monsters etc I don't think that it HAS to be scary to be a horror. I don't think there is a movie out that that would scare me anyway. I just like the whole theme of horror and the subculture created by it

Re: Paranormal Activity anyone?

Yeah I went in expecting the movie was gonna be a piece of shit, so it was actually pretty decent to me. It was more so interesting and comical, until the last 30-40 minutes. Kinda freaky.

Movies always turn out better when you go into it expecting a pile of crap!

And that's usually how I expect every totally over-hyped movie to turn out, so I've had pretty decent luck so far.

I'm not watching that fourth kind movie. Aliens scare me too much.

Re: Paranormal Activity anyone?

I couldn't say that I got really scared but there were parts that gave me chills and overall the movie gave me a really weird feeling. All the people on here saying that they didn't like it at all are just trying to be that one guy who has to criticize every movie and can't just enjoy it, believe me I used to be like that. If you want to see it, puff on a joint and go watch it.

It was a little boring in the beginning but that just kind of sets the mood and makes it so much better in the end

Re: Paranormal Activity anyone?

It had me on the edge of my seat for the entire time, to be honest. But I never got freaked out or anything. I got the ending where she throws him into the camera and then it shows the "demon" that possessed her., and only a couple of people in the audience yelled at that.

The creepiest part for me, was when the camera was just on her, while she was laying in bed. Then she stares at the camera, and her face is like melting or something weird. It's towards the end, I think right before they go to sleep the night she kills him.
