I'd really like to keep an open mind, but...I think it's gonna suck.

I don't think the show could ever translate well to live action, let alone with Reeves playing Spike.

At best it will be like Constantine. A "not horrible" flick that bares only a passing resemblance to the source material.

It'll be interesting to see who they get to play Ed and Jet. I can think of a number of actresses that would be great at playing Faye, but I can't think of anyone good enough to play Jet, or quirky enough to play Edward

in a way I can see Keanu Reeves playing Spike, in a way I can't.

I don't really think he's a good actor, he can't emote worth a damn. But he was the main guy in A Scanner Darkly, which is one of my favorite movies...even though his performance in that movie was kind of overshadowed by Robert Downey Jr. and Woody Harrelson.

I'll have to wait for more info before I can pass judgment, even though turning cartoon/anime shows into live-action is never turns out to be a good idea, from what I've seen anyways.

You guys didn't like The Matrix? Speed? Constantine? I for one am a fan of Keanu Reeves and as long as this MOVIE doesn't suck, it will be badass with him as Spike.

The first Matrix was great, but it had nothing to do with him. Same with Speed and that movie doesn't age well at all.

John Constantine should have been played by Jason Statham or Paul Bettany. He was completely wrong for the role (a surly chain smoking British asshole) and they watered down the source material to fit him.

With the exception of The Gift, I can't think of one GOOD performance he's given. He ranges from passable (Bill & Ted, Point Break) to god awful (Dracula, Devil's Advocate).

He's too old to play Spike. He doesn't have the physicality, nor the depth and charisma. He could play "A" Spike like he did with Constantine, playing "A" John Constantine, but it won't be the same character.

I just can't stand his diction. Him and Nicholas Cage. It's painful to watch movies with either of them in leading roles just because of how they talk.

I just don't think I can watch Reeves as Spike without thinking "whoa..........dude" in my head the entire time. That's all I hear when he opens his mouth

I heard that the creators of cowboy bebop would be working closely on the film so this is great news! Even more hope for this film
