That picture makes me think he can do Spike even more.

As long as the rest of the cast isn't shit and the movie isn't shit he'll do fine.

Well, that picture is either old and/or photoshopped.

Anyone's who's seen Street Kings can attest that dude looks WEATHERED(Katrina) now. Granted, he's still a reasonably attractive guy... for 42+. The creases and excess skin are way too noticeable(even with a boatload of make-up) and he's too monotone and one-dimensional to play someone so effortlessly witty, so (efficiently) sardonic.

Abridged version: Keanu looks old and doesn't have the chops to nail Spike's personality. I honestly can't believe you're a fan of the show and you think Neo could honestly pull of not only a faithful but satisfying adaptation.

I just can't see keanu reeves as SPIKE... spike is such a fucking badass with a swagger no one can imitate. Sure the Matrix was good... constantine was decent... but........ this is Spike.... from Cowboy Bebop.

I wan't to see who they get to play faye...

why does reeves get these cool parts? all he does is fuck movies up with his always the same silent type burnt out character.

whatever. i guess he could be a decent spike.

cowboy beebop is probably my favorite anime. but i dont watch much anime so yah.

Same here, I don't really like anime but Cowboy Bebop and Akira are exceptions. Both are amazing. Actually I think they cancelled the live-action Akira they were making, thank god.

Keanu Reeves isn't a terrible actor. He always seems to end up in some great movies, but his acting in them is never anything worth noting. I guess we'll have to wait and see if he can pull off Spike.

I'm not one to judge a movie before it comes out based on my dislike of an actor.

What was so terrible about Street Kings? It wasn't an epic movie, but I didn't switch channels while watching it.

I'm still pumped for this movie and Keanu Reeves being in it doesn't take away from the excitement.

putting keanu reeves as spike is sheer and utter blasphemy. chastise me all you want for believing this is going to end in disaster, but FFS that guy is a known douche bag, the antithesis of spike! they really need to get some new TALENT in hollywood, especially for something as great as cowboy bebop. They're tainting and tarnishing the reputation and cool factor for that show.
