stealthboxit's cab grow

I started a PC grow box not to long ago and wanted to build something bigger to hold a few more plants. The PC box was doing well until the light mount gave way. Before I started this I tried to build a Rubbermade stealth box but found it was too hard to control the conditions in the box. So here is my attempt at a bigger grow box. This isn't a true stealth box since it leaks some light. Designed and built by yours truly.

Seeds: 5 THC Bomb; 2 Sensi Star X Hindu Kush
Medium: Happy Frog
Nutrients: Roots Organics, Super Thrive
Water: 2 phase filtered tap ph corrected to ~6.5-6.0. Typically comes out too high so I lower it with some drops of vinegar.

Walmart Mainstays Storage Cabinet
2 120MM 70 CFM exhaust fans
10.5"x6.5" passive intake vent
Lined with black/white plastic
1 positionable fan for circulation

1 90 Watt Bloomboss UFO
4 26 Watt 6500K CFL

Soaked the seeds for 24 hours till they sank and then popped them in between some moist paper towels in a almost airtight plastic container. After 24 hours in the plastic container all THC Bombs popped and had healthy looking tap roots. One SSHK cracked but didn't fully pop out the root yet. I will leave the SSHK in the sealed container for another 24 hours. Let's get this party started already!

Sowed one of the Sensi/Hinduseeds this morning. The second seed still had not even cracked. I went ahead and tossed that seed. Looks like I will have 5 THC Bomb and 1 Sensi/Hindu.

Update:
All five Bombs broke ground today. Still waiting on the SSHK seedling to poke its head out. Yippee!

I'm subb'd. If I may add, the top two compartments look promising as veg chambers. If you could use one area for keeping bottles & supplies and the other a few CFLs + cloning/germination set up you could run a perpetual grow.

And yes, you may add! I was thinking about doing that very same thing with the upper chamber. At some point I may build out the top to accomplish a perpetual grow. I still have to do some research on how a perpetual grow works and how I could incorporate it with the capacity of this box.

Well, a perpetual with this system would be: Flowering on the bottom and vegging in one of the two top sections. It all depends on how big you want the plants to be. In one of those vegging areas you could veg a few plants for (lets say as an example) 3 weeks from seed and then transfer them into the flowering area. As soon as you have about 3 weeks left of flowering until harvest, you start vegging new plants to get ready to put into flowering. As soon as you harvest the flowering plants you stick the vegging ones right in to start flowering and you cycle it

Not possible in this. You're going to be spending at least 8 weeks (pure indica) up to 11 weeks maybe 12 flowering(pure sativa).
If you have two flowering chambers, you can harvest once every 4-6 weeks.

So I had to go out on a business trip for a few days. Looks like the gf killed all six seedlings. They were definitely living it up when I left so I dunno what happened. I'm not sure I want to post a death pic. *tear* She sprayed them with some water I had PH corrected to around 6 with the tiniest amount of Superthrive added. She did this because she couldn't correct the ph of some water on her own and needed to water them. I'm pretty sure this was the death ticket. Any input greatly appreciated on this sensitive subject.


In other news, I began soaking my remaining 5 THC Bomb and 3 SensiStar/HinduKush seeds in prep for germination. I'm soaking them in some water corrected to ~6.0 ph. Used a few drops of vinegar to accomplish this. No Superthrive. I'm going to prep some new cups with fresh soil. Hopefully I will not have to leave these little guys again for an extended period of time. I'll have to figure something out if I do.

I thought we had covered everything before I left but I think it went in one ear and out the other. Anyway, she was much more interested this time around! Go figure! Hahaha.

Checked the seeds this morning. All SSHK seeds cracked. I put all the seeds in between some most paper towels in a tupperware, and slapped in my computer tower where the temp is high and consistent. They should be ready to plant either late today or early tomorrow.
