DOPE FOR FUN. What is is: nausea 'eliminator' for a chemo cancer patient, relief from the painful side effects of those patients suffering from blindness & Glaucoma, pain relief for a SEVERELY PAINED individual who most likely lives with constant pain levels beyond the comprehension of most 'normal' people, is it a unique opportunity to no longer have serious sucidal depression, anxiety and panic attacks as often due to the medicinal uses of high potency marijuana. Personally, I have Fibromyalgia, which means, basically, I have tender spots on my body, about 13 or more, and they HURT and they are sore 24/7. Then, there are the weather affected pains in my back and neck, basically, that feels like the incredible HULK was squeezing your chest until you felt like something was going to painfully POP. When you have been up for 48-72 hours straight due to CHRONIC PAIN and nothing seems to be acceptable, from ice cream, to a candy bar, to scooby snacks, you aren't comfortable standing & you're not comfortable sitting, because there is a little GREMLIN sitting on the corner of your NECK telling you that he is and PAIN levels aren't gonna be subsiding until anytime soon. The potent indica cross Northern Lights is a powerful medical marijuana which, for me, has the effect of relaxing my constantly tensed up body, and allows me to pass out and get some much need rest. You know, EVERYONE needs to experience the deepest levels of sleep for their personal sanity as well as health to live. FIBRO patients oftentimes do not experience this deepest level of sleep. SO, there are fallouts associated with that. Mentally debilitating circumstance, for sure. AND, to think, all this JUST for the opotunity to BE SPOILED and able to GET HIGH, what do you think? In my medical marijuana state of Colorado, there are no dispensaries, so no POT POPS, no cookies, no brownies, no buddha, no nothin'. WELL, you say, it can still be purchased on the illegal market. LET'S GET REAL PEOPLE, do you think that someone with MS who doesn't "GET AROUND" the house very well, is gonna be all ready to go down to da HOOD and get the hook? I should think not. There are even inherant problems with a system, or shall I say non-system, in one of the 11 states which has passed medical marijuana. I think when voters passed Medical Marijuana in Colorado in 2000 as an amendment, they were making a statement of basic rights. Which means, that this can not be repealed sometime in the future. It is my belief that the voters were showing "COMPASSION" towards the seriously ill patients in our state, but, at the time, it was not realized that without a vehicle to "Get the Medicine to the Patients", mmj in reality is seriously flawed. SURE, there are provisions for growing up to six plants(three mature and three immature). BUT, think about it folks, would you feel like nursing your precious females when the CHEMO has you puking your guts out multiple times a day? Caregivers, who are specialists in growing and realize the unique needs of certain patients who may need a Sativa to FUNCTION during the daytime & a Indica to rest properly at night, are activists currently helping to move the medical marijuana movement forward. At great personal risk, with marijuana remaining illegal federally, caregivers throughout the world, help patients with these unique needs. Since there is no 'clearinghouse' in existence to link patients with caregivers, for most part, it is only through the efforts of individuals in the mmj movement and some sporatic groups that the two can come together. This effort is 'HIT&MISS' at best. Meanwhile, there are large portions of the Rocky Mountain State left completely uncovered, with patients on the Western Slope and other rural pocket areas of the state apparently completely forgotten. I have a biker friend, living in a cabin at a ranch near Telluride, right now, she is 60 and dying of Hep-C complications. She went through CHEMO and the full barrage, but wants to live life with dignity and pain free. Where can she go for medical marijuana? Last I saw, there were no Western Slope compassion clubs, or support groups, or even volunteer guerilla growers helping. Which is SAD. The use of medical marijuana is a compassionate act which has yet to gain general popularity. Pockets of activists are discretely working to change this reality. BUSH asked AMERICA for a new spirit of volunterism. As a mature and educated adult, do you have what it takes to volunteer to help domestically where it is needed? Terminal patients don't come with SIGNS ATTACHED. They seldom are seen on the corner with a cardboard sign asking for spliffs. BUT, if you saw one, what would you do? What would Jesus do? What would the smart compassionate renaissance man of the new Millenium do? Are you a 'master grower' of unique talent, not getting the FULL SATISFACTON of knowing you are helping patients? Are you willing to devote a few hours a week to becoming a patient ombudsman helping volunteer to educate potential medical marijuana patients of the logistics of the state registry process, or to help find a doctor? Behind the scenes, things are happening in small ways that volunteers can be a part of. Making a small difference in the quality of someone's life is a noble deed, indeed. SORRY to be such a downer, and deflate the POSITIVE MYSTIC of medical marijuana. It is not FUN. It has very rarely been that. AND, we are not SPOILED. With some patients in Denver reportedly paying upwards of $350. an oz for some dank medicine, in this state anyways, there is little room for compassion on the mean streets. If you were debilitated and on a fixed income, choosing between food and medicine is NOT what you would want to have to do. BUT, there are patients who are doing just that each and every day. When I say the government is a PAIN, i am not lying. Medical marijuana is a very small enhancement of quality of life for a spirit which is waning, so compassion & compassionate acts are the just The RIGHT THING to do. ENJOY YOUR HEALTH. Be thankful for the opportunities placed before you and GROW...............in the education and knowledge of compassion towards our nation's most frail.//Timothy(aka COmidnightrider46) My latest article, "Colorado Medical Marijuana Evolves" http://www.writingup.com/comidnightr...ijuana_evolves MY BLOGS http://www.writingup.com/comidnightrider46 or (access MY PHOTO folders): http://360.yahoo.com/ttipper39 ************************************ MEDICAL MARIJUANA COLORADO (messageboard for my North Denver MMJ discussion group) http://community.chronicclub.com/groups/?id=7 ************************************* Custom MUSIC MEMORABILIA is now available on EBAY simply type the words, "BACKSTAGE PASS PILLOW" Last edited by TTipper39; 03-13-2006 at 05:58 AM. |

Guess what I tried?
HOLA,
Tried a taste of someone's new crop of medical grade marijuana they called Amsterdam Bubble Berry. My caregiver and my first impressions of this were as follows,"Heady, Sativa, but some Indica influence. Mr. 2 Hit KING! Cotton Candy flavor, sweet with moderate tricone activity. Lime Green with a olive green hue. Clear Head High." Bad news is, I need more of an Indica to help me with my pain levels. Of course, could see a personal benefit when I have that ears ringing pain and top of the head headache, it may just do much to eliminate the upper cranial pain. my latest article:"Colorado Medical Marijuana Evolves" http://www.writingup.com/comidnightr...ijuana_evolves |
