Would I Qualify For Medical Marijuana?

Hey everyone,

I have pretty nasty anxiety problems. Generally, it prevents me from sleeping on a weekly basis (some days I fall asleep, others I wake up in the middle of the night, others I get absolutely no sleep). I'm constantly tired, and never feel relaxed. Furthermore, my anxiety has caused me to bite my fingernails to a point where they are permanatly deformed. I am always getting headaches from a lack of sleep, and I constantly ruin any relationships I have with friends and family because of my constantly poor mood. Any luck? I just want something that will calm me the hell down. I haven't gone, but may see a psychologist about my finger nail biting.

Oh BTW, I live in CA, if that matters any.

it would help if you had been diagnosed already,and had tried some meds(prozac,effexor,ativan,etc,etc) mj is usually an alternative treatment for people.its not the first thing people get for there problems.though you could say you dont belive in artifical chemicals in your head and you have read the side effect from the meds,and they dont sound like somthing you want to exparament with. you could say that you have tried mj and it works well at low doses(like 4 hits). and tell/describe them the releif you recive from using marijuana(don mention euphoria,that sounds like recreational use to me).you could also tell them you plan to use mj wether or not you get a permit,but you would like to be within the law. here is a reputable doctor. http://accsocal.com/patients.php good luck

I doubt they would perscribe u since u have anxiety problems. Doctors and psychitrists all say that mj is a depressant. depressant + anxiety = bad idea. I really dont believe it is a depressant tho. But u could try to speak to a doctor about it but i bet they would just send u to a psychitrist.

have a few beers and chill man, to have high anxiety means your worried about something, go careless for a few days and dont worry about anything

now idk exactly your situation but seriously take a day or two of work just smoke sum weed and drink sum beers and try to have fun

it IS a depressant, but that doesn't mean it makes you feel depressed. It means it depresses some of your body functions. Also, it's a general side effect that marijuana causes anxiety, so I don't see how you could get it prescribed. Just my 2c

My doctor said since its a depressant it means it can make you depressed. I tried to question him and I told him I was almost sure depressents mean it DEPRESSES your body functions like breathing, etc. He didnt agree

Cannabis is a depressant drug
Depressant drugs do not necessarily make you feel depressed. Rather, they slow down the central nervous system and the messages going to and from the brain to the body.

He does have a point, however. Marijuana and depression are related. I have never seen a study saying that marijuana assists depression.

According to Websters, a depressant is "an agent that reduces a bodily functional activity or an instinctive desire."
The technical antonym of depressant is stimulant, not anti-depressant, but to partake in depressant drugs when you are prone to depression only exacerbates the problem. IT DOES NOT HELP.

Alright, you will qualify if you have asthma, an eating disorder, headachs or backpain (there are plenty of other things, im just naming a few). All you need is a good $150 or so to be evaluaded, and proof (medical records, letter from doctor) that any of those conditions are, in fact, existing. Its actually very easy to do unless, of course, you are lying xP

a guy i know got his med marijane card. all he told the doc was that he had trouble sleeping. some docs wont require all that proof.

weed helps me when im depressed, thats all i know
