Smoking in the medical field?

Hi all, I'm new to the forums!

I have a question I was hoping someone here might know how to answer. I'm just beginning college with aspirations to be a nurse practitioner. Let me preface what I'm about to say with this: I will do whatever it takes to achieve my academic and professional goals. If this means giving up pot, so be it. :_( But if I don't have to, I don't want to. (Duh!)

So here's what I wanted to ask: does anyone else work in an environment (medical field or otherwise) that asks you to submit to drug testing? Are there ways around these tests? If I were able to obtain a prescription for pot, could I legally smoke it and have a valid excuse for when I am asked to submit a drug test?

I smoke and I'm a nurse... Can't tell you exactly how I get around dt's, but it's very possible. Wanna know more, just pm me.

In college it shouldn't be a problem, but i'd hate for you to fuck up your career aspirations over a bit of weed... I say smoke up because you'll probably have to stop later

Since cannabis is a schedule 1 drug, you don't actually get a prescription, just a recomendation.Important legal distinction there (trying to save WildWill some work

) You have no legal protection where urine tests are concerned.
MMJ in the workplace is currently a significant issue which you can read a lot about online. Here is some random lawyer babble to get you started

Thanks for the info everyone! And no, I don't plan on screwing up my career over weed... if I have to stop smoking I think I'll just get a spore kit and do shrooms. They don't show on a dt!
