| Vaporizers?
Winter is coming and that means staying inside for a medication break....but the smell is way way to strong for others in the house. ![]() So this had me looking at vaporizers, read through a bunch of threads and the Volcano seems to be the best by reputation, but has a bit high of a price...so I kept looking and found a lot of reference to the Vapir products (the VAPIR™ ONE v.5.0 looks nice). I have a few questions for other mmj patients that have more experience with this method of medication.

2. There is a smell but not nearly as strong as smoke and imo doesn't smell a lot like weed, more like roasted peanuts or something like that. 3. I bought a Da Buddha over the summer and have been using it regularly ever since. I love it and would reccomend it over any other similarly priced vape. Check out their website as it has a lot of helpful info and Da Buddha also comes with a warranty that will cover anything on it exceptc breakage of glass. 4. can't really say as I have never used a bag style vape before, but again it's all about your personal preference, I love the whip style on mine

I have a Vapor Brothers that I have used for over 3 years on a daily basis. Works fine! No moving parts to break, sturdy (been dropped several times ), quiet, small enough to be put in a drawer, no bags to buy, and much easier on the lungs! Worth every penny of the $139 I paid! Get one! A friend of mine, an asthmatic, took a couple of hits off my VB and instead of coughing, she was SMILING! About 5 minutes later, we were ordering her a VB! It's that good! Granny

Hi, I'm new, but I made my own vaporizer out of a glass jar, some fish tank tubing and a soldering iron and some small plumbing pieces. I'm a girl, can operate a drill, and get the basics of how things work. There are instructions on the web, if you type in "homemade marijuana vaporizer" into google. Worth the effort. Cost about 15.00 all told. Works great! 4- 5 inhales gives me a 3-5 hour high/pain free period. No coughing, no smell, no smoke. So much better than inhaling flaming paper! |

Soldering Iron elements are fully metal, I'm ASSuming that you used something metal to create a bowl as well. Unfortunately metal heating elements are very hazardous to your health. While it's inexpensive, and fun to make, I wouldn't use it long term as a health consideration. I know a Volcano is expensive, but it's really worth the price.

Thanks WildWill. I'm sure you're right about the metal, etc. I used a brass hose coupler to hold the stuff, and brass is used in all kinds of plumbing and drinking apparatus, so I wasn't terribly worried about that. Especially comparing that to inhaling hot smoke, from a pipe, bong or joint. When I get $200.00 (it'll take awhile - that's a small fortune to a person on disability), I'll buy a real one. Thanks for your insightful remarks.

I have the "hands free" model. And yes, fresh bud can be vaped, but it tastes "green" and water vapor can collect in your hose, which can lead to bacteria and fungi growth. Not a good thing to do on a regular basis, but once in a while is OK.
