What to tell my doctor

Hi everyone, I recently moved to the SF bay area and have finally acquired my CA state i.d. and i still have a few questions regarding getting my MMJ card. I will be making an appointment soon and primarily want to know whether or not it is a good idea to tell the doctor giving me my evaluation that I have been smoking medical grade marijuana to great effect in recent years instead of taking my currently prescribed depression pill, Paroxethine HCl, a generic version of paxil. Should i tell him this? or just let the fact that I have depression and anxiety already diagnosed and have a current prescription for it do the talking? And any doctor or clinic recommendations would be great. Thanks.

Absolutely, but also bring all prescription and diagnosis info from your current records.

They will ask you, so best to be honest, all info in a Doc's office is confidential, and most cannabis docs hear that sort of thing quite a lot, anyway.

In Berkeley, Dr. Lucido, is a gem, and a gold standard for professionalism, imo.

Definitely. Anything that supports your belief that MMJ helps you should be brought up. That was the the first thing I told my doctor while he was looking at my 'scripts and med records.

the more proof you can give him to show mj works better for you than anything else.. the better off you are. And it prob shows that you use it more responsible

Thanks everyone for the info. I was browsing Dr. Lucido's site when I saw a link to his email if you had any questions about your chances of qualifying so I emailed him with a few specifics. If I end up making an appointment at his firm does it matter that I live on the West coast of San Francisco and he's technically in Berkley? And if I get my recommendation do I have to be part of a certain club before I can go in to purchase meds? and if so how do i do that?
