| WA (Seattle) MMJ questions/advise...
First off, this is related to MS. I've been thinking about trying to get a medical card, but I have some questions.
I've been having neurological problems for about five years, and two years ago a doctor told me that I very likely had MS. About a year ago, after a bad symptom flare up, another doctor told me the same thing. This time I actually got to see a neurollogist, and I got a diagnosis.
Now, all of this happened in Spokane. Somewhere in the two moves since then, Ive lost all of my medical records (and the clinic I went through deletes inactive patient files after a year, so they no longer have my records) and no longer have health insurance. This is all background.
Now, as I understand the process, I'll first have to find a low-income/community clinic, get a recomendation to see a neurologist, then start the process with the neurologist. I've read that some neurologists want to do MRI's and spinal taps *twice*, with six months to a year between before confirming. Once I have the confirmation of MS from the neuro, then I have to find a doctor that will give me a recomendation. Which means the whole trip could take six months to a year.
So here are my questions...
1) Is my understanding of the procedure/time line correct?
2) Is it hard to find a dispensary in Seattle? I've read that a lot of Western Washington uses co-ops.
3) In reference to the above, is it hard to get in contact with a co-op?
4) What kind of prices would I expect from a co-op/dispensary? Right now I pay 300/ounce for dank (I get a special price, because the dealer is a friend and knows that the herb helps me), but I have to drive 2 and a half hours each way. I'd really, really, really like to start Copaxone, so if a card wouldn't save me any money... well, it might be worth the risk I'm going through right now.
Anyway, if someone could help me out with any of this, I'd really apriciate it. I've tried to do some research through google and thread searching, but I'm still feeling a bit lost.
P.S. Before anyone sudgests that I start growing my own... I'd love to, but I can't. I live in a *small* one bedroom with two others, and we've got really noisy neighbors and a "no making drugs" clause in our rental agreement.
