black outs and insomnia

Hi all, so I have had almost constant insomnia since I was 14 (19 now) and when I turned 15 I began experiencing blackouts throughout my day. After dozens of doctor visits I have never been diagnosed with any sort of disorder and none of my doctors have found anything that can stop the blackouts.

When I was 15 I began experimenting with weed. I slept like a baby. It was amazing. I hadnt slept that good in my entire life, and after repeated use of marijuana I found that it had cured my blackouts. (blackouts which happen 2-3 times daily) At first I thought that my blackouts and insomnia were connected but after trying a couple different sleeping medications I relized that even after I had a good nights sleep I still had the blackouts.

I do plan to get a MMJ card at some point in the near future, but my questions to all of you are : Has anyone experienced anything like this?/ Dose anyone know what is wrong with me? any information helps

PS: when I stop smoking for about a week the blackouts come back

Re: black outs and insomnia

YES!!!
I cant remember shit about when I was younger (even stuff thats only like 2 years old) I have just no idea what I was doing at that time. I have to think very very hard and then I can remember some significant events. Like something very happy or sad or something like that.
I even have to think very hard often what my dinner was 2 days ago. I can't say now what I had for dinner 2 days ago thou I'm thinkin about it already for a couple of minutes oO

^^^ hahaha thats funny man,

yeah you cant get medical grade shit, but you're definately not creepin under any laws, you can light up in front of a cop, get a $100 ticket, and then have no repercussions for an unpaid fine

I honestly doubt that "dozens" of doctors didn't diagnose you with anything when you told him you were insomniac, and had frequent black outs.

I told the doctor I had problems sleeping, and after a quick questionnaire, he diagnosed me with insomnia on the spot.

I went to 1 doctor.

Trouble sleeping and blacking out is signs of narcolepsy, which weed won't cure.

If your black outs are just loss of awareness. If your body does not collapse, you are so sleep deprived that your brain literally goes to sleep on you. Go to a sleep center and get tested for various sleep disorder. This take wiring you like an astronaut; they record brain waves while you sleep or not. They can help you. Sleep disorders are often fatal.

Or keep using cannabis. I would do both, but test without MJ.

Re: black outs and insomnia

Well, i can sort of relate to this. I have had Photophobia since i was 7. One evening i woke up and looked out the window and the sunrise was hurting my head.. all i did was look out the window. Over the course of years it gradually got worse. By the time i was 13 i had to wear dark sun glasses to school. My doctors told me i had an intense aversion to bright lights, which caused severe migraines and sometimes nausea. Im 18 now, and the headaches are not nearly as often or as potent. My doctor says Im developing an immunity. When i was almost 17 my headaches became less severe and I began to experience insomnia. Now the two symptoms have switched with eachother.. I now suffer from severe insomnia and only occasional migraines. My doctor suggested Ambien and Lunesta but these just make me drive in my sleep, or eat in my sleep.. and then ill wake up with a headache. Im considering asking my doctor about Medical Marijuana.. and i wanted to know if the public thought i would be eligible.

When I say dozens of doctors I mean different types of specialists( cardiologyst, nueroligist) and im talking about them diagnosing the blackouts. The doctors think It has to do with my blood pressure and during a recent tilt table test my BP droped to around 30 over 50. and no, no one has diagnosed me. also I dont appreciate being taken for a liar about a very personal situation. Everyone else thank you for your help.

sorry to sound like a dick its just that my citys' dry at the moment and Im tired, again

This is what I thought at first but after trying sleeping medication and having a good nights sleep I was still experiencing blackouts (and let me clarify, when I say blackouts I mean -extreme dizzieness-tunnel vision-disorientation-then lack of consiesness- Im not sure if that is the correct definition of a blackout or not I just call it that for lack of a better term. Yes I explain this to all the doctors) anyway marijuana is the only "medication" that has ever stoped my "blackouts"

Re: black outs and insomnia

Actually i think i know what your trying to describe.. one of my ex girlfriends had a simular case.. her parents have heart related issues, so you may need to do a more thorough background check on your parents, because this could be hereditary.

Have you looked into autonomic neuropathy? This can be very difficult to diagnose

Autonomic neuropathy: MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia

It can cause a variety of symptoms, including fainting and confusion. There is certainly justification in the use of MMJ to treat neuropathy. I have bladder issues secondary to this not so fun disorder, myself. It took some time to get a correct diagnosis so hang in there. There are a variety of causes of autonomic neuropathy and it can be quite a challenge to sort out. And yes, as the previous poster pointed out this can be a hereditary problem of some seriousness (such as Long QT syndrome, which is also a bitch to diagnose
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/lon...ndrome/DS00434 )
Hope your doctors can develop a theory soon.
Sometimes it takes a week in the hospital hooked up to monitors to sort this stuff out, or you have to actually pass out in the doctor's presence. It can take time, and luck, to get the correct dx.

Re: black outs and insomnia

Just like the trance song, "I can’t get no sleep". That is how I feel every night when I get home from work. I do customer service and after 8 hours of listening to idiots scream at me; I usually go home eat watch spike tv and try to go to bed. Well, that does not work to well. So I Tried G- Monster> from narcomundo.com. I took one serving; and some time after I was out like a light. I really worked.

Do you have any commercial interest in this product?
