High folks! I've been reviewing dispensaries and covering various topics within the Colorado MMJ scene. Check it out and lemme know what you think:

The Strain Man

Also, lets share dispensary experiences here in this thread. Here are some of mine that haven't made it to the blog yet:

First the good....

Boulder Alternative Medicine

Great place! Usually have at least 10 different strains for various budgets. Anywhere from $8 a gram for great tiny mix of nugs from the bottom of bags for rolling, all the way to $17 a gram for some of the best bud CO dispensaries have to offer. These guys are so cool that if you buy a gram or two, they'll actually CUT THE BUDS OFF THE STEMS before weighing so you pay for what you smoke, not what you throw out. I'll keep coming back here.

If you want great indoor, locally-grown high-altitude bud, this is your place. I like the town and the staff who also grow their own for the store and are very knowledgeable. Prices are great, too.. $14 a gram for primos like Sage and Sour Diesel.

The Bad.....

These are the guys that got robbed, and ya feel those vibes in the staff with every heavy breath in the place. Despite their bad luck, honestly, their wares just suck. I opened and inspected every jar (and they had like 20 different strains) and it seems that no one there knows anything about proper drying and curing. Some of the jars smelled of ammonia!!! WTF! Also, many of their strains are mislabeled and not what they claim to be. Also over-priced at $20 a gram for their better selections when there's such better bud not a mile away.

The Ugly...

Pain Management of Colorado in Denver

They'll sign you up for $350 and have a 70 year old doctor from the Dominican Republic who can't speak English that well. A bit shady in both dealings and location. They had 2 strains on hand when I checked it out and one was just crap, the other was an AK-47 which looked decent, but it just wasn't AK-47. They also have some edibles, but they are very weak. These guys are in it for the money and that's easy to see. BEWARE: If you use these guys to set you up, I hear they will make you select them as your primary caregiver, so you'll have to change that ASAP with the state.

my favortie place so far is probably highland health

fun friendly staff, good buds, good prices.

they only save there top shelf label for truly primo shit! like headband, purple crack, purple urkel etc...

there next step down from those top shelfs are also bomb as fuck!

the edibles they have are strong as shit! and they even offer yogurts with weed in them! what more could ya want? lol

ill be stopping by there today after work!

peace in medicine is also a cool place as well! i might actually go there to use there volcano today! hahah. the only bad thing about this place is the fact that they charge you tax on top of the price of weed. so 55 dollar eighth turns into a 60 $ 8th,

highland health and a few others have the tax included which is super convenient

I feel like this is a great thing, but many dispensaries don't want their info out there. From what I have found those are very nice.

My personal favorite is Boulder Vital Herbs. Great prices, and quality. Only edibles I've found that are decent.

I also really like the new one that just opened in boulder, Natural Alternative Medicine. Waaaaaaaaaaay too expensive, so I will probably go there only rarely, but the quality is just top shelf. I loved the Blueberry Sour Diesel I grabbed a little while ago. But seriously, they can charge up to $25/g for non-members, and that is pathetic.

I like the In harmony wellness. They charge street prices, but if they aren't you caregiver, you only have like 5 strains to choose from. They're still good, but they have waaay danker nugs if you name them and they do $80 quarters and just throw free eatables at you

Thanks for the info. $25 is steep even for the top top shelf from what I've seen. Do they have a range of prices for non members or is it all $25 across the board?

Range from around 15-25/g. They do good prices on larger stuff though.

Check out the other one i mentioned though, they know their shit and much better pricing.

so i just found out a pretty good acquaintance of mine just opened up a dispensary!

it just opened today!

When i do go to a dispensary I use T.H.C. or the healing center. There prices are comparable to street prices. if you assign them as your caregiver you get a little discount and the offer classes on growing. Some of the bud is primo and some leaves you wanteing more. the one kinda nice thing is that they are all the same price so if you know what to look for you can get a deal.

A new dispensary just opened up next door to my work in Golden - I spoke with the owner a bit when he came in for a cup of coffee, and he seems pretty cool. The name of the place is Golden Alternative Care on 14th and Washington - if one of you guys that have your card already could review it, I'd surely appreciate it, as I don't have mine just yet but am looking into getting one. He mentioned having organically grown herb, as well as edibles, and other care like the ability to hit off a vape while getting a massage in the office. Let me know how it goes!

I just went to Herbal Medix in Longmont today, was pretty nice aside from the fact that you have to fill out about 5 pages of paperwork to see the medicine room, which is kinda small, however it's the only place I've found with tincture so far.

Boulder Alternative Medical is the best I've been to so far. Great staff, great buds, great atmosphere. Only wish they were open past 4:19 every day.
