I have my medical cannabis documents and everything, but I was just wondering do you ever get a card or something instead having to keep paperwork with you. I think it would be way easier to keep a card than having this paperwork all the time, so if anyone knows, thanks.

One of Medicann's "selling points" is that they issue their recommendation in card form, so you have a wallet-sized card as well as your actual recommendation in paper form. As far as I know they are the only place that does this... so, you may be SOL on that one.

Hopefully Will or someone with more information can enlighten both of us on the subject.

Many docs will issue smaller wallet size ID cards, though they charge typically.

IF you really want to just carry around a card, get the State issued ID card - it's expensive, but it's the ONLY ID that LEO's and CHP have been ordered to leave alone. All other forms of recommendations are fair game for police to still seize your meds and issue a citation for possession(which you get tossed in court), but with the State ID they can't do a thing (once it's verified).

You can bring your recommendation into Kinko's and have them make a small wallet size card. I did that and it cost about $5.

2 counties recently have been ordered (San Diego and San Bernardino) to comply with CA law and issue medical marijuana ID cards to patients. Many counties like neighboring Riverside already issue cards, it was really just a matter of time.

Cops leave you alone if you have a small amount, or even plants (if you're under the plant limit). Any property seized by law enforcement of ours is now illegal by law and is recompensable (they have to pay you back for it). In southern CA were generally limited to a half pound to a pound if I remember correctly. Which is fine, no reason to roll around with that much weight casually.

Now is better than ever to get medical if you live in California, especially with the price drops compared to when I bought my first in 2003 ($175 vs $100 on average). Tell them you have insomnia, and that you've been heavily using over the counter sleeping pills for years, and that cannabis is the only other thing that works for sleep.

My girl informed me about a few others counties that issue cannabis ID cards. So for socal, thats San Diego, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Alameda, Kern, Ventura, then San Luis Obispo and Fresno too bordering on central/southern territory. There are 35 counties here in CA total.

So if you live in southern California, and in one of these counties, which is probable, there is no reason you shouldn't be growing and smoking legally with a state issued medical cannabis ID card. If you buy weed, stop smoking for a couple weeks to save $100 ($75 some places) to enjoy our herb completely legal. If you're in socal, you owe it to yourself to get this ASAP.

but does that actually make it legit, because if I was a cop and I saw one that looked like that I might be a bit skeptical about it.

No, and in fact, many clubs won't accept it either because it's not the original recommendation.
