I have lived in CO for a little over a year and have recently been interested in trging to acquire my MMJ card. I am a 23 yr. old male and basically looking to get the card so i can smoke/grow small without fear of arrest. I would eventually hope to get into the caregiver/selling to the dispensaries aspect of it, but at first id just like to get the card. The only qualification i have to get the card would be for pain. Feb. 2008 i broke my foot snowboarding relatively badly. I had to have a surgery involving pins and screws and be off my feet for 3 months.... Since the surgery i have not seen any doctors complaining of pain in the foot, but was told after the surgery that arthritis pain and what not could be a problem for me in the future where the break was. My question is basically, if i have records of all my doctor visits for the surgery and after the surgery; will that be enough to show that i have a real need to use MMJ? If i would go see a cannabis educated doctor and explain that i have been using MJ to help with pain and stiffness in my foot during the day; would this be enough to qualify me? Or would i need to see a reg. doc. complaining of foot pain from the surgery; and then take those files to the cannabis doc? Im really hoping i only need to see one doctor (the cannabis one); as i am low on funds and cannot be paying to see multiple docs. and then to register and apply for the card too....Also, would i actually need to register for a card? I keep reading things about just needing a doc. reccomendation and ur good, but is that good enough in CO or just CA? any advice/help would be appreciated...thanks
