Everyone knows the cons of smoking marijuana, they are obvious.
Memory loss, weight gain (munchies), laziness and of course the negative effects of smoke.

I think the OP may have just been passing along some info he stumbled across.

It just shows how a there may be a possible link an that more studies need to be done. If it proves to increase risk of testy cancer then possibly we could isolate a molecule other than THC that increases risk and through breeding we could come up with strains with less of it.

Personally I like it when we increase our knowledge of all things MJ. I'd like to see some follow up.

Also like to see more studies on the positive effects of MJ.

Wow that's a great hypothesis, guess what? Alcohol use, fast food consumption, narcotic use (such as cocaine, heroin, etc.), and over-exposure to various hormone-affecting things (such as florescent lights) has also increased!

Wow that's a brilliant study. Study 1000 men in the same region with testicular cancer, see if they have smoked marijuana and then conclude that marijuana must be the cause of the cancer? How come they have shown no scientific proof in this article about how they reached the conclusion that it was marijuana alone and not alcohol and smoking habits?

That only applies to marijuana SMOKE.
Smoke contains carcinogens obviously..
The marijuana itself does not.
If you intake cannabis without smoking it you will get no carcinogens.

What most people don't realize, is that testicular cancer is still a heavily researched topic. We don't know a whole lot about it, what exactly causes it or a surefire cure. Now with that in mind, the original article serves as just a theory. Some scientist probably just noticed the correlating numbers and put two and two together. This isn't any sort of official statement or anything of the likes.


To sum it up: It is theorized that marijuana is related to testicular cancer. Not proved, or anywhere close.

I read the article on CNN today, and there was a 6% difference in their findings. 20% vs 26%...



Not even close to a conclusive difference in such a small sample pool. The error due to misinformation and obfuscation alone cancel out a 6% margin.

The truth is that there probably are some health risks associated with MJ use. No one is blind to that fact. The simple fact that there hasn't really been a huge amount of testing on the subject arouses some worries in most normal people.

However, innocent until proven guilty is the basis of our legal system. The fact that no one can conclusively state that it causes X or Y is grounds in my mind for a reconsideration of policy regarding marijuana. Hopefully we have a man in the white house now who will make that happen, but we'll see how it unfolds.

From what I can gather, what the researchers did here is take a group of men and separate them into categories of cancer/no cancer and pot/no pot. That's not even science. That's a survey.

After reading through all that man it seems as though to be just another political scandal in action against us in the "War on Drugs" aka "War on Pot".
