Well from what I have read, the consensus is that we most likely will be the 14th state to legalize medical marijuana, however I have also read that it could be quite a lengthy process.

I think it'll pass. Why? It passed 6-1 (pretty good!) + I don't think we can ignore the fact that it really does help people.

I know that before, when Montel and that kid were testified, they still found some room for doubt/bullshit, but I believe more sufferers are voicing their experiences. I don't think our legislators will really sit by and do nothing when these people are in their faces telling them what the fuck is up.

With that said, I guess we're all kind of dicks. I mean sure, it'll help me with my chronic tennis elbow, but I don't think that compares to someone who's life is crippled by a disease. I always wonder if this whole medical marijuana push is more us, pro-weed people that are recreational users, simply using them as a crutch to get some legislation passed or if we're really doing it because we care for those people.

Regardless of our motives though, there is no doubt that marijuana really helps relieve pain. With it having done well in that committee and Corzine saying he'd sign it, I think there'd be outrage if it doesn't pass in the state senate.

Then again it's fucking politics. If there's anything we should know by now it is that we shouldn't expect anything.

I disagree with the poster above. I think we all smoke weed for a reason, whether that reason be subconcious or not. As far as comparing your chronic elbow to someone who is suffering from a more dyer illness, I don't think it matters how bad your problem is as long as mary jane helps you it's a good thing, right? Just my opinion.

This is fucking awesome even though I will not be eligible to recieve medical marijuana right now cause im not seriously/terminally ill, it is still a huge step for us and America in general. I fucking love Jersey.

Well I have a medium case of kyphosis and scoliosis of the back, sure it hurts like hell when I stand too much or if I put too much strain on my back, but I can bite my lip and go through the pain when it occurs.

Other people who suffer from diseases such as MLS and Crohn's Disease are crippled without the drug, they literally aren't able to get up from their beds in the morning. While smoking marijuana deffinitely helps my back out among other things, I don't really think you can compare that to someone with a debilatating illness, I can get through my life without it, they on the other hand can not.

I'd rather prevent the disease than wait til I have it. You have to remember that cannabis is as effective a preventitive treatment for cancer & illness as it is a pain killer & remedy. Just because the government does not accept it as such in their guidelines for mmj doensn't make it so.

I've never heard of marijuana being useful as a preventative medicine for cancer or any other illness. Care to link to some of that info?

I have no idea where you are trying to go with your post.

Never did I mention anyone with cancer, if you have cancer I highly doubt you are using marijuana to treat your illness. Howeever I doubt anyone waits to get MLS and Crohn's Disease, you are either born with them or it will attack you out of no where and there is very litte you can do about it. Smoking marijuana isn't going to lower the chances of you getting cancer, MLS, or Crohn's disease, however it can help alleviate the pain associated with these illness's.

From the reports I have read it could be a lengthy process, I would expect this done at the earliest sometime next year, it could take another year or two however.
