Oh man, I ate a peice of my favorite cake today..and all I can say is damn. My stomach has felt like shit ever since..looks like im not eating dinner tonight..

So I want to ask you all again; as Im sure I have asked before.

After my remicaide treatments, I am left with tiny little white colored bumps, that come up almost every night. These bumps look, and almost feel like Mosquito bites, however they're not. They come generally around 5PM and later. I take two benadryl a night to get rid of the bumps. They cause severe itchiness, that will cause me to not sleep if I do not take some sort of antihistamine.

Does anyone else get these?

My step mom took a few pictures of one as an example; shes at a church group meeting. When she gets home i'll upload a picture as an example.

Well, yeah, but either way, it's still got mouse proteins in it, making it very different from Humira, in that respect.

Im thinking about getting an RX for marinol from my doctor for when i go out of the country, has anyone had any experience with this?

(I know hell prescribe marinol - he already gave me a med rx)

Marinol was no where near as efficient as the real deal. It is synthetic THC. If anything, it will make you incredibly hungry, and mildly euphoric. Didn't work really well for my cramps.

Yeah, it's definitely not great for cramping, but for me, I have a lot of issues with nausea/vomiting, and it IS extremely effective for that. Since starting it a few months ago, I haven't lost weight from not eating or vomited even just once. It just depends on what your main symptoms are, and what you're expecting from it...it's certainly not the real thing and affects you quite differently.

If you're getting hives and itchiness, do like they tell you after you finish with the infusion.

"if you experience any side effects such as nausea, itching, hives, rashes, etc let your doctor know."

Definitely let your doc know.

Do you pre-medicate with an anti-histamine and Tylenol before the infusions? When I was on Remicade, my GI made me do that to prevent hives/allergic reactions. Might be something to think about and bring up to your GI if you're not doing it already.

I take marinol! or dronabinol really! it is only syntec thc. It doesn't have any other cannabanoids so you don't really get high. It helps with my naseua. I would say they are worth it. not near as good as the real thing by any means but it lasts a long time if you use both! The best thing I think they do is make it to where I don't need/want to smoke as much. My doc says very few insurance companys will pay for it though, I was his first out of 10 to get it.

Does anyone else on Humira find the injections incredibly painful? My pops is also on it and has no problem with the injections but he has a nice layer of fat while I have no fat on my body. I just got one in my thigh and I can barely walk now.

When I was on Humira, I never did the shots in my thighs, even though the nurses told me I should switch between my gut and my thighs. The thighs freaked the hell out of me, because, like you, I have virtually no fat there. Right before it stopped working for me, I switched to the syringe instead of the pen. If you're not nervous about needles, I'd highly, highly suggest asking for the syringe. You can control the rate of injection (since that's really what burns, the medication being shoved into your body in 10 sec.) and slow down if it starts to hurt. Those were by far my least painful shots...too bad I only got to do a few of them before I had to stop taking Humira.
