Wow
My friend recently broke his leg really bad, compound fracture, broken in 3 places... Trampoline accident. any ways i guess they had to put a rod in his leg and some screws ect ect, and the prescribed him Percoset, OxyContin, and some other pain killer that he said is stronger than morphine, all of which you can become easily addicted and overdose and die. We smoked 2 bowls the other day, and he said that he had no pain in his leg for about 4 hours. They even handed out pamplets to his dad about the risks of all these and to make sure you count the pills so that his son didnt over dose or sell to other kids. I cannot believe that the government would rather give an 18 year old kid a drug in which thousands of people are addicted to and die from all the time rather than an herb that has never killed any one. They even told his dad that his son could very likely form an ADDICTION while he was taking these and they gave him all these addiction hot lines and brochures on addiction. I cannot believe the ignorance of our government.

It's funny that I stumbled across this site and this post.
I am 30 and recently moved to California and have an appointment next week for a MM recommendation. This all stems from a similar broken leg injury from two years ago. I have gone through 3 different surgeries, still have a rod and 4 screws in my leg (they are permanent), and my fibula is still tangibly broken (you can feel it through the skin) and will likely never heal. I have had prescriptions for Oxycontin and Hydrocodone that I haven't refilled in over a year because of the side effects. Sadly I feel almost guilty about trying to get a MM recommendation. I had not ever tried marijuana before about a month ago when a friend recommended I try it for my leg pain. My pain is not that bad, but it's there everyday and it keeps me from doing some things and is generally just a restriction on my lifestyle. The marijuana feels like the pain medicine that I've always needed and never had. It takes away my pain while not making me a cranky insomniac like the pain meds do. I hope all goes well at the doctor. I know that I'm qualified to get this but the federal laws make me feel guilty about getting help, which is sad. |

yup i would definetly agree that mj is alot better for your buddy than the ocs considering the side effects, BUT oc is much stronger of a pain reliever and will do more than mj will (try both at same time, that works best, trust me lol)
but for milder pains maybe the percs are better if you are going to be out and about, either that or youre just walkin around stoned all day which isnt really the point. im not sure where i was going with this... i must apologize i have just picked up my bowl so i kinda got sidetracked.... you im not remembering what i was gonna say ill come back when i remember later, damn black domina... im not feeling any pains tho lol |

I'm guessing the stronger than Morphine drug was Fentanyl, a ridiculously strong and addictive drug. Tell him to stick to the Percocet and not to take it for more than one month of daily use. I used Percocet after knee surgery for 2 months with very very mild withdrawal. An Indica strain will probably relieve his pain the best.
EDIT: I am NOT a doctor so take my advice with a grain of salt, just my personal experience. |
