Is Medical MJ used for Depression ?

I'm just curious, but is it possible to get a medical card for depression ? As in, At these dispensaries, did any of you ever run into someone purchasing cannibus to smoke for depression/anxiety ? I want to know first hand from those who go to dispensaries!

Honestly I think MJ makes anxiety worse for most people who already are dealing with anxiety issues. It gives me a little anxiety, usually when I smoke shwag.. I've never had anxiety with dank I don't think. Kinda weird actually. I dunno about depression though.

Depression is one of the reasons I have Medical Marijuana. I don't know if its the best long term treatment but you can get MMJ in Cali for it.

Also it is highly effective at treating my anxiety, which can be extreme at times.

Yeah..that's why I always say MJ effects everybody differently. I sometimes GET anxiety when I smoke. That's not enough to make me quit though, because I know it's all in my head.

Some strains make my anxiety worse, usually sativas or sativa dominant hybrids.

Be careful many people get serious depression and yours can worsen.Try it if it helps then it helps if not talk to your doc.Either way talk to your doc.

im having the same situation. actually today im going into my physician for a diagnosis, im pretty sure i have gnarl anxiety, or maybe it might be social anxiety, wich causes my eating disorders. but the thing is, im 16. my father said he would sign as legal cargiver.

any advice?

Well, use me for example. I experimented with cocaine 2 times. The 2nd time i did it i totally freaked out and thought i was going to die because of my heart beat going extremly fast as opposed to normal, i tried to count it, but it would freak me out more. Every since then i at night i would constantly freak out at night, thinking the cocaine did someting to my brain and i thought iwas going to die. i guess you could say since it was a traumatic experience, I would have slight flashbacks of the moment, then go into a panic attack. Panic attacks are the worst feeling ever. Since, i started having panic attacks, I was introduced to marijuana illegally. MArijuana allows me to go to sleep at night worry free. They tried to put me on anti-depressants, ex: Remeron and Lexapro. Those 2 drugs caused an INSANE amount of problems for me, rather than help me. Marijuana seems to be the only thing that can help me, but what sucks is im on probation for being caught with a large amount of it. ( i get off in 5 months). When i smoke marijuana, it turns me into the person i was befor all this panic disorder shit happened, Its a wonder drug, Its amazing, and it cures my panic attacks and rids me free from anxiety. Plenty people say it causes anxiety, however it effects everyone differently. What sucks even more is I was prescribed Xanx to take for when i have theese panic attacks. My gf is a pharmacist, and i was telling her i takx xanx. I also told her that since i've been taking it on an as-needed-basis ( panic attacks only happen rarely nowm, like 1 a week) I have this terrible ringing in my ears. This ringing in my ears really only effects me at night whe ni go to sleep when everything is quiet. Marijuana Cures the ringing in my ears when im on it. What gsucks is that i live in louisiana and i deff want to move to cali for my medicatoin, however i dont want to have to move there and be denied of a card..

Yea it's pretty affective while your high. Certain strains do different things. Some cannabis has such a harsh come-down you actually become more depressed or anxious. Just find the right strain for your ailment.
