Sick Chris Cannon offical dick head of the year

So I wrote my congressman ( Chris "Dick Head" Cannon) about a bill that was going to help the sick and ill use the medication that they want.

And he Responded:

First prepare you self for some un controlable rage caused my one mans ingronace.

Dear Jordan:

Thank you for contacting me about legislation concerning the medicinal use of marijuana. I appreciate you voicing your opinion and am happy to respond.

Marijuana is an illegal drug in the United States. The consequences of marijuana drug use include problems with memory, learning and social behavior, and may lead to lung cancer and additional health problems. Many have argued for the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes to pacify pain in patients suffering from certain diseases, such as glaucoma or cancer. Treatment and medication for these diseases should ultimately benefit patients rather than creating further medical problems, and the science has not shown that to be the case in regards to marijuana use. In fact, the National Institute of Health advises against using marijuana as a treatment for a disease or condition.

The Hinchey-Rohrabacher amendment has not yet been proposed this year, but in the past this amendment prohibited funds to be used by the Department of Justice from preventing states from implementing laws allowing the medicinal use of marijuana. In essence this legislation would prohibit federal funds from halting the use, distribution, possession or cultivation of marijuana for medical purposes. I have voted against this amendment in the past because is my hope that a physician’s suggested treatment can abate the pain of their patients, without a reliance on illegal and potentially addictive substances.

Again, thank you for contacting me. If you would like further information, please visit my website at www.chriscannon.house.gov

Ignorance isn't a reason to label someone as a "dick head".

Honestly I don't really have a problem with Marijuana being illegal. I have a problem with the reasoning behind it. Because there isn't any non-contradicting reason. They say MJ leads to health problems, what about ciggs that have killed millions of people? %70 of lifetime cigg smokers will die from it. How can they justify it being legal and MJ being illegal when there are no studys that link MJ and lung cancer. Also there have been 0 deaths caused by smoking MJ.

If they want to keep MJ illegal then fine, whatever, I smoke anyway. But at least have some legit reason that doesn't completely contradict itself.

I think you're actually coming across as the dickhead. Unfortunately, his beliefs are shared by most of the country, and we should respect that. MJ won't be illegal forever, the best thing you can do is try to educate people.

Agreed. He didn't come off like an ass or anything like many people will regarding this topic. But he is misinformed and seems a bit uninterested in learning the true facts about it because, as far as he is concerned, he has all the facts.
And that is the general attitude of the public, it seems. They have been told for so long that it's bad that they don't need or want proof of it anymore.

This seems abit assholeish and seems your only thinking for yourself."You dont care if Marijuana is illegal"Yeah well what about all those people in jail for it that are non-violent.What about the sick people that are dying everyday becouse of didesases.I have a very serious disease myself and without Marijuana I wouldnt be here so that means if the cops come busting down my door for growing/smoking my meds I am fucked. This shouldnt happen to any person on this earth esp a sick and dying one.

To the OP.He des to me atleast sound abit rude but that may be becouse of were I am coming from.Write him back in a civil manner explaining to him he is wrong in everything he just said. Also get some good stides that are well documented and send them to him.I would also try and get some reports from the sick/dying that use MMJ to help thim live alittle bit better and ask him hey how would you like it if he had a Disease that is incurable and progressive/deadly and if he tried to alleveiate any pain or symptons he could go to jail.

This is it you have to educate the ignorant, it's the best way to move medical cannabis forward. BTW cannon sounds like more of a dumbass than a dickhead but I bet he's both.
