If you're really depressed then you should probably see a therapist and at least get a real professional opinion. Weed can be a great treatment for depression but it's gonna end up costing you a shit load of money to be high all the time and you're gonna get a shitty tolerance eventually and you're gonna have to deal with being high around people all the time.
It really depends on how well it works for you because it's different for everyone. And also it depends on how often youre willing to use it.

Well I'm gonna see a therapist for a real diagnosis, but I do know that even using it once in a blue moon is great, like it cleans my head and allows me to work it again. I mean, I was at one point using it el wake-o bake-o where I was great, and just using it again after a good three month break.
So basically I guess smoking daily is a bit much, but I wouldn't think weekly or even bi-weekly is bad, at least in the context your talking about. |

sorry for the double post, but i got another question
if i lived in a medical marijuana state (lets say California) and i went to a doc for a recommendation, could i get it with melancholy depression, what about celiac disease (which I also do have). i mean i ain't leaving NY, but I want to see if at least from a medical view it could help me, thus giving my self-medication some merit (not a whole lot!) |

I thought you meant you had to be high to feel better. If smoking every once in a while helps your depression then by all means stick with it. I smoke almost daily for a number of health reasons (headaches, anxiety, sleep, stomach aches) and it's a great remedy. The only problem is it doesn't help me unless I'm actually high. But if you can smoke today and still be okay in a week then I'd say you found your miracle drug. I'd rather smoke once a week and be okay then take a pill every day for the rest of my life.
But again, it wouldn't hurt to see a doctor about it to get a real opinion. Regarding your other question; I don't live in a meidcal-marijuana state so I don't know how easy it is to get it, but I've heard that it's not very hard. I wouldn't move just to legally smoke though. It'll be medically legal in NY eventually, don't worry. But if you're wondering about it's actual medical merit, then you should know that it's been used for thousands of years as a natural remedy for tons of illnesses, including mental ones. I'd say it's more of a medicine than most of what the drug companies make. It's natural and it works with less side effects than most other drugs (especially psychological ones).

If it works, use it. Certain strains tend to help depression more so than others. Generally, sativas work better for depression, as do sativa dominant strains. . .but, it's not the same for everyone.
If you were in Cali, yes you would qualify with depression and celiac sprue.
