Question Question for a friend: Post-op ACL Pain 4 years later?

Alright, when my friend was 14 he fell from a gym ceiling and tore his ACL (Anterior Crutiate Ligament, a primary ligament in the knee). He had it replaced surgically, which required extensive post-operative physical therapy. He has had moderately severe pain in the frontal knee area caused by the surgery, because a piece of his patella-tibia ligament was removed to replace the torn ACL. He is just turning 18 soon and is moving to California for college at USC. Stronger indica strains like OG Kush completely eliminate all of his pain. Do you guys think he could get a MMJ recommendation for this? Thanks alot

Alright, thanks a lot. +rep for being the only one who wanted to answer after a few days, may I ask how you received yours? Or if you know anyone with an ACL injury post-op pain?

I haven't picked one up yet for some reasons..but mainly I just don't need it atm. A person in my family has one, so it's all good.
But, any person with pain can pick up a card, especially in cali. It's probably the easiest state to pick up a card. Also, your buddies injury is not some little excuse..it's a big deal, so don't even worry about it. Just tell him to show up with the doc with his medical records and you're all set.

Do medical records have to state that there was chronic post-operative pain. There was the initial pain from the drilling and cutting and what not, but there is no record of abnormal chronic post-operative pain. Is record of the surgery enough?

Record? You don't need a record. Tell them about the surgery and bam - it's so ridiculously easy.

Edit: They'll ask why you need it and after, they'll ask if smoking cannabis helps. Simply answer "yes" and you're golden.
