are different strains better for different types of illnesses?

..also, what about in the case of mental illnesses, are some strains particularly helpful for treating problems with mental illnesses?
I'm thinking of illnesses like depression, anxiety, ocd, ptsd, agoraphobia, etc.

Thanks

Yes, more specifically, different genetics.

Indicas are better for people in pain, Or people with sleeping problems. Because of the 'couchlock'.

Sativa's are great for people with Anxiety, Depression, (More mental issues)

There are many different strains available for different things, some strains are mixed to have the proper genetics for a certain ailment. Though there is no '100%' saying on which strain helps you in which areas. Everyone reacts differently, and you can grow one strain, two different times and have it turn out completely different.

So while two people with depression could be on MMJ, one could be using an indica to help with manic stages and vise versa with sativa.

Two people can suffer from the exact same condition with the same symptoms and find peace in a completely differnt plant. YOUR body will never react the exact same as someone elses'. You have to try some different things and find what suits you best.

that being said, some plants tend to help with certain things (like stimulating apetite). BUT everyone is still different and reacts differently.
