I am interested in getting a card soon, and here are my symptoms: Anxiety, depression, sleeping problems(possibly insomnia), eating problems, and severe headaches.
Here is where I am different from a lot of other patients. I CANNOT take pills. People try and give me every tip in the book, I have tried everything, and I always gag or just cannot do it. Even when I nearly got pneumonia and strep, I had to have them crush the medication and drink it as a suspension.
So heres the thing, it is a waste of my time and money to get prescriptions from my current doctor, since I cannot even take them. If I go to my clinic, will this be valid? Basically that I cannot take pills and there are no alternatives.

I have convinced myself that having a card will help a lot and make it a lot more convenient. Especially the case during mornings, where I can stomach food, but then if I don't eat I get massive headaches. Weed is the only thing that gives me an appetite, aside from when I have the luxury of sleeping in and eating breakfast a little later in the morning.
Also, I get random occurrences of extreme, nearly suicidal depression every month or two. Having a toke helps relax me a lot and be able to think my way out of the depression, however, the other times when I have had alcohol or nothing at all were very scary.

Do you guys think my reasons are legitimate, or that I am just a pussy? I understand that some of you REALLY need it for various terminal, debilitating, or otherwise awful conditions, and sometimes I feel like by me getting a card and thinking I am just another kid thats getting a card to smoke weed legally, I might be hurting the people that REALLY need it.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a psychological problem, it has to be in your head. I unserstand that smoking will give you an apitate, but you are not in pain. I highly doubt it if you will get accepted for a card. If you do, it will be easier for others to gain one, why would I not say that bullshit to get one... Unless you are about to die, because you cant eat or something, I cant see them giving you a card. sorry to bring the bad news, but I just cant see it happening.

Umm...well. People get cards for wrist pain, so I don't know about your opinion. No offense.

Bro you ain't no pussy and you are not taking away from MMJ users who "really need it". Like I said before everybody has the right to relief from pain. You in CA, get a card bro. Your conditions are more than legit. Hope you work it out.

I was pretty nervous when I first got my card. Just go to a recommended doctor. It is no problem to get a recommendation:

When I started going to the clubs I saw all the people who seem pretty healthy, some would say these people "just want to get high". I don't think this is entirely accurate... We all need relief from pain sometimes, and in California it is legal to use cannabis for any medical or pain relief purpose

California seems like another world sometimes, a wonderful place... Yeah I'm from the Midwest where cannabis is highly illegal. :-(
