Interactions with Perscription Drugs?

My wife is interested in toking up for the first time, she takes depakote for her epilepsy and she is worried that there might be an interaction. Her Doctor just tells her not to smoke at all and won't honestly answer the question. Does anyone here know?

well i am not a doctor by any means but i would highly doubt there would be a reaction i have taken meds for alot of problems i have/had ms, stomach ulcers, deppresion, adhd and plenty of pain/antibotics meds also... and only once had an interaction, with the spine relaxers thay had me on for my ms.. nothing bad it only increased my high x10 i have since been taken off that as it was making me sick(all muscle relaxers do)... alot of doctors will tell you not to smoke but if he didnt give an honest awnser chances are he has no idea. i would suggest just rolling a joint of low quality and let her hit it once or twice, if there is an interation that shouldn't send her to the hospital... and remember if she decides to try it and something does go horribly wrong you or her will not get in trouble for going to the hospital as long as you are honest with them about what she took

None as far.....

I worked in a clnic with the doctor so I have seen this, but obviously you MUST get a doctors opinion.

I have seen patients use it in conjunction and actually eventually go off their medication completely. BUT You need to see a very good doctor. Call around and get some credentials on the docs in the clinics.

The reason I say to ask, is because you will be AMAZED at some of the doctors. They really are good and caring.

Good Luck!!!

Nah Depekote will not be affected by bud.

I was prescribed it before. I smoked during the entire year I was on it.
