Help convince my doctor!

ok well i recently had a post about my ADD and self-medicating with MM. Well i found out i have a doctor's appointment tomorow and i really need a strong arguement to help convince her. So far, all i can really say is that i feel more in control while on MM, im not the twitchy, anti-social person i was while on Adderall Xr. It helps with my insomnia, again a result of the Adderall, and i still feel very focused while on MM. Any further suggestions, or comments will be very helpful.

Lay out your case rationally and if she doesn't agrree, get another doctor.

Well i just got back from my doctors office today with some rather dissappointing news for me. She laughed at my idea of using MM and used some reasons i found to be complet bullshit. First, she said it is a highly addictive substance. Then she told me that the increased amount of dopamine in my brain will screw me up and said i will probably develop schizophrenia. Lastly she told me that i wouldnt benefit from this other than about 5 minutes of increased concentration.
When i told her all of the reasons why i should be on it she told me that the amphetamines would be a better choice. Her last reason was that THC is fat soluble hahah. I think its time i find a new doctor.
I asked her for the number of a good doctor...she didnt find that to funny and told me no she didnt know any numbers and that i should go and find a new one haha.

Fire her and get a new doctor. Even if she disagrees with you, she shouldn't laugh at you. You are her employer, not the other way around.

So nice to have MDs proving that the degrees they get don't necessarily mean they are smarter than a horses ass.
Definitely find a doc who is capable of reading research and analyzing the overwhelming data that contradict SOOOOO many of her points... where did she get her degree anyway? Oral Roberts Univ.?

Many thousands of patients with ADD find that MM works to cause their other meds to work at a higher degree of efficacy, and many swear that it is the ONLY thing that provides them with any relief at all.
Your doctor sounds like a poser, she would rather please the pharmacy reps than provide her patient with comfort... I bet she wouldn't hesitate to prescribe Oxycontin or Demerol to people, Now That Shit IS ADDICTIVE!

I think it has a lot to do with power, your doc has the power to tell you what you should put into your body. That can mess with someones head a bit. Also I hate to play the corruption or conspiracy card but here it goes. They also do get some kickbacks from large pharmaceutical companies to "push" thier product.

you need to throw something in the conversation about your current ADD medicine being used illlicetly (speed) either through being stolen from you or by you, you see this is one of the main reason (imho) that they are using MMJ as an alternative to ADD medicines because people use them as cheap amphetamines (a much bigger "problem" tham mj, in the opinion of the law makers/enforcers/government)...So back on track; say that you find yourself using them to stay awake/party/etc. and that you don't want to get addicted and become a speed freak so you are seeking a safe alternative to control yu ADD. ..., At least thats how I would handle it. Due more than fire her, Make up some MMJ browies and give her one. See what she has to say about how bad MJ is then, just kidding...

Well we can tell your doctor doesnt know anything about cannabis. The only way you could convince her is to show her actual scientific studies. She cant deny those. For her, its like one of us going to the CEO of the company we work for and telling him that he has no idea what he's doing.

Also THC is fat soluble.

This is why there are special doctors for MMJ. Almost no one gets a MMJ reccomendation through the doctor that the insurance company provides. They are still engaging in rhetoric from a bygone era in medicine. As the next generation of doctors is educated in MMJ fact rather than MMJ myth we might see a turn around.

lol ya as everyone has posted lately, your not going to get any type of rec from your family doctor through your insurance.. dont feel bad though, a lot of people have kaiser and they are totally screwed becuase they CAN'T prescribe cannabis to any patient whatsoever( It's true, my own grandma used it and the doctor said she wish she could write a pres. for it but Kaiser is backed by so many big drug companies that it would put itself into a big shit hole by actually helping people with what they need- not what what big companys tell us what we need.)

By the way, where do you live anyway.

Amphetamines safer than MM? Ha, that's fucking hilarious. No doctor should ever laugh at you, there should always be respect between a doctor and a patient and she was being an ass. Fire her and find another doctor. I was recommended Tegretol to treat my epilepsy and it made my memory real shitty and damaged my liver, unfortunately I live in S. Florida, no MM here. I use MJ anyway so if you keep finding shitty doctors (which could definitely happen for a long time) just do it at your home and don't drive and smoke and whatnot, it'll be next to impossible to be caught. I hope you find a doctor who takes you seriously though. Good luck.
