Cannabis and Psychotherapy
Bob Marley once said, "When you smoke the herb, you reveal you to yourself." And I know exactly what he was talking about. Though I don't know if this idea is taken or not, I was thinking that maybe cannabis can be used for psychotherapy.
I don't know about anyone else, but cannabis has helped me a lot through my depressed periods. One of the things about depression is that there are these irrational feelings of despair inside you that can completely consume and wear you down if you let them; feelings such as "I'm worthless" or "nothing is ever going to get better".
Everytime I smoked my mind would block out these irrational thoughts and the rational ones such as "I don't have to stay in this hole, I'm in charge of my life" come to mind. I basically start looking at the glass half full instead of half empty like my normal depressed self would. And I would think of completely rational ways to better myself.
But cannabis was only a tool for me to help me get out of my holes, and not the solution. Ultimately it took my sober self to act and get out of my hole, and those are the things that truly helped me become happier. Cannabis just gave me that extra incentive. It always has helped.
So I know I'm not the only one who would think this is a good idea. Of course the bud would have to be at least 80% sativa. I get more in touch with my soul with sativas, while indicas are more relaxing. Anyone else think this would be a good idea?
