LOl I think we all love the sticky icky.
I love the info in this post and i will search the other site to. This is exactly the info i am looking for. So far I learned that BC HASHPLANT when eastin in butter form helps for chronic pain and long term joint problems. It only helped for a short while on her fresh knee replacment pain but worked wonderfull on her dislocated shoulder and arthritus pain. hope that helps.

That's kind of what I was wondering. After watching that documentary, and having made QUISO hash before, I couldn't figure out how they kept it as an oil. Mine always dries up to a powder, but I've made some cannabuter just using leaves that is so strong, I was TRYING to take a "medicinal" dose (they say it takes so little for the 2 x a day dose you DON'T feel loaded) so I put the equivalent of three decent size "pats" of butter on two pancakes. Three hours later I could've hunted ducks with a rake!!!

Then I made some brownies, and a 2' X 2" brownie was still a bit much, I felt like I smoked a couple good bong hits, but it lasted for about 12 hours.

I ate a 1' wide piece of brownie this morning with my coffee, and I'm hoping that's much closer to the medicinal oral dose.

Wouldn't the proper amount of cannabutter be the equivalent of taking the oil as medicine? This is the third morning and already it SEEMS like the chronic pain I have from Hep-C and all the related illnesses chemotherapy leaves you with, and it appears that those things aren't hurting as bad.

But to actually be able to cure cancer, diabetes, hep, skin cancers, anxiety disorders, sleep disorders etc all with ONE natural medication? AAAA...Mazing!!!

If you first extract the cannabis as a concentrate - you have more control of the strength of the final product. You need to dissolve the concentrate in ethel alcohol - then mix that into the oil you use as a carrier. You can make a super saturated solution by doing this. I then heat the oil to drive off the alcohol. This works using glycerin.

Aha!!! That makes sense. The old boy does mention that naptha removes a lot less chlorophyl than alcohol.

The difference is that alchohol and water are polar sollvents whicl naptha and butane are nonpolar.

Polar solvents disolve a wider range of things than the nonpolar. Polar disolves chlorophile and waxes which the nonpolar do not.

Well, the polar / non- polar descriptors make sense to me, though the idea of using liquid butane as a solvent scares the hell out of ME!!! I like the quiso evap method much better than this using electric woks and stuff to "boil off" the solvents idea.

To me, having already had one ankle burned to the bone half-way up my shin, fire, explosions all that just aren't my cup of tea anymore...lol.

Plus it would seem to me that fans and well-ventilated spaces are the best way to go

I don't know the variations in trichome content as it applies to one batch of cannabutter to another, but if it is relatively constant, then I think I found the right ratio for brownies.

Yesterday, I used a regular packaged brownie mix that calls for two eggs, a half cup of water and a half up of cooking oil. I substituted one cup of melted cannabutter for the half cup of oil and a 2" X 2" brownie was like smoking a few hits of good weed, and stayed that way all day long. Before bed, I ate a three by three and though I slept like a baby, right now I'm thinking maybe I should leave the construction project I'm doing alone for a while. Whew!

I hear you on perceived danger of heating butane!

Having never made hash oil, I can't personally speak to the danger of using it to make oil but here are some interesting facts I found on wikipedia. It says that butane boils at 0.5c, so i would think that the people on youtube cooking their butane are just being impatient. It should naturally evaporate at room temperature. For evidence of this i submit that when I was in high school some friends and i got a can of butane and used it to freeze stuff by making a small puddle and watching it evaporate almost immediately. I'm not sure if this would work with a larger quantity (like a whole can or three), but it might.

99%+ of butane can be driven off by hot water baths. After that baking for 10 minutes at 200 degrees will drive off the rest. Final product very viscous - more like tar than oil. If the extract is very fluid - you have residues still disolved in the extract.

Concentrate is them disolved in alchohol (ethel) to make it flow better. Then this is disolved in the final oil or glycerin. After a complete mixing - heat the final product to remove as much alchohol as desired. Or you may leave it as alchole tincture. This procedure will result in medicine which is dosed in drops.

Solvents are flamable and no one should use them without knowlede and the proper safty procedures.

The honey oil produced with butane is a dark amber color and totally transparent.
