Marijuana for Bipolar and Depression

all decent read. but as always, anything i ever read on the web is taken with a grain of salt

i couldnt find anything about bipolar in particular, but i would personally guess it wouldnt be much farther off from the depression research as in stabalizing emotions

I don't know of any particular studies, but I do know quite a few people who use it for this. Cannabis has a stabilizing effect, balancing, and is very effective. And of course, you can use different strains for the manic and depressive phases.

If you use cannabis as medicine, it's definitely best to grow your own, so you can find the strains that work best for you.

i personally have used it mainly for the stabliizing effects it has on bipolar. i took lithium, and was on numerous other psyche meds, but i found marijuana to be the most gentle mood stabilizer. but thats just me and im crazy

Thanks guys for all the replies. I currently use cannabis for bipolar. It works well for depression. I've used various meds and people think I just want a way to get legal herbs, but depression sucks. The meds help, just marijuana has less negative side effects.

Bi-polarism is a mood disorder,and marijuana does stabilize it a little. its known to allieveate depression, and also helps people with schizophrenia allieviate the voices they hear. but the one thing that triggers depression or bi-polarism is substance abuse of some kind, which can include marijuana.

pretty much why i use cannabis, i never used meds cuz i take enough already. and im not sure if i have a slight case of bi-polar cuz i have some of the symptoms just not all...idk smoke on is all i have to say i guess

im my personal experience.....it makes it much much much much MUCH WORSE.....like its no joke

thats why i dont smoke alot...when i get a strong urge i will. and somtime im ok

but other times i can go into a way deeper depression for weeks.

Heres a question: Out of the 11 US states that have passed MMJ laws, how many of them have approval for Mental conditions? I think Cali. is the only one, am I right? Seems to me that Bipolarism, Szitzophrenia (slaughtered that spelling, sorry) and other mental conditions cant be too far behind physical conditions on peoples list of priorities for approval.

I find that marijuana tends to counter out the groginess inducing effects of my anti depressants. The anti depressants would make me feel sluggish and lazy but when i smoked a good bit of sativa i was going about my business as usual. Apparently THC balances out the manic and depressed phases of bp depression.<br><br>Hope this helped!

I have depression, it's actually pretty bad. Weed helps improve my appetitie, my mood, and helps me sleep, some nights i can be up for like 6 hours without falling asleep, but with weed i usually fall asleep in under 30 minutes.
