MM for arthritis?

I was curious.. I have had juvenile Rheumatoid arthritis since I was 16 ( last time I had blood work ). I am going to go in this week for another test etc.. the pain has gotten alot worse now ( especially since I work outdoors ) I am 22. I took anti-inflam pills for awhile, but started noticing stomach problems ( is that normal ? ) and they didnt seem to help much - been taking Tylenol arthritis, 650mg. Whenever I get blazed, its gone, period. I've been smoking for probably around 6 months now, and nothing comes close to being as effective as marijuana.. but the problem is I am in a small town ( havasu, arizona ) and its really really hard to find people. Should I see if the doc will prescribe MM to me? The pain is really bad sometimes.. and to have it at this age really sucks - mad mood swings.. 1400mg I took an hour ago, and I still feel it in my shoulder joints, and my knees. They pop and grind etc
I wont even get started on how it affects my sleep.. anyways enough bs

Just would like to hear some insight/opinions etc.. appreciate it

-adam

Hey Adam, anti inflams can certainly cause stomach upsets, especially if not taken with food or milk. I find the same problem when taking AIs over long periods of time, and I hate how opiates make me feel, and the side effects from them, dirty stuff! So MJ is my prefered medication, just a pity it's illegal. Anyway, while I don't have athritis I do use MJ for pain relief amongst other things and can understand where you are coming from. My gran has osteo arthritis in her spine (which is slowly crumbling), and suffers massively because of it. She was introduced to MJ a few years ago and once she started to have a smoke she was able to sleep for more than an hour or two at a time. The relief MJ has brought to her is a godsend and I seriously hope you can get a script for it. Good luck on your quest

Ahh.. yes if only this stuff was legal, I would definetly get some wal-mart weed and yeah -those anti-inflam pills sure do put it to me, bad. Anyways I know the bloodwork will speak for itself.. anything else I should say to the doc? I know to be straight up as well as telling them I eat it (or does it matter?). Anyone else have any suggestions?

-thanks

Anti-inflams certainly contain chemicals which can erode ones insides over time, and as arthritic conditions are degenerative, I can understand totally your relucance to use them long term. Some also contain known carinogens; namely Voltarol. Avoid this one, if you can. I made my mum stop using it a few years back; she has osteoarthritis.

Cannabis can certainly work; she isn't keen no the idea for some reason, but when I have given mum a joint, she has said it does work well. Shame she'd rather drink the loopy juice. Still....

Arthritis does suck, especially at your young age. I hope you get some peace soon.

haha.. same old bs they gave me again today. Told me to get more inflam pills ( even though I told him I won't be getting them and I'm still going to use marijuana instead ) and my white blood count is pretty low.. there are a few other doctors, but this one in particular was too sketched out to talk about it. Maybe I should just start growing a plant? Or perhaps upgrade my speech skill some more time to toke what little bit I have left

I have a buddy that has arthritis in his legs and it sucks. Ever since he got it, he had to get less active and stop playing basketball and stuff.

He got a medical card when he turned 17 and it acctually works wonders. His legs stop tweakin out and hes able to become more active even though he can't play basketball like he used to.

the state of Arizona doesn't use marijuana for medicinal use. does your doctor even have you on any pain killers? was the tylenol your idea or his? you should probably be on the ai's and some prescription pain killers. the ai's will not stop the pain alone, im not sure what the doctor was thinking. how long has he had you on the ai's without prescription pain killers? suggest some hydrocodone or even oxycodone to him and see what he says.

I hear this is the most effective non prescription stuff for arthritis. I'm 22 and can tell I am slowly starting to develop it. It runs in my family. It's mainly my knees/ankles/elbows. I'm gonna start taking this stuff religiously: http://www.activexamerica.com/syn-flex/index.php

Naw he just had me on ai's..for awhile and said aleve or some shit would work fine for pk's even though I insisted at the time to get some prescription pain killers. After that I just started popping arthritis tylenol etc.. until I found some chronic. That really sucks about Arizona, I thought I read somewhere they used it for medical.. in the passing of that 215 law or something..
I will try every doc in this town anyways
over the months the inflammation has gone down a good sized amount since I smoke atleast 2 times a day for it

anyways time to go pick up a quarter.

Bud, just looked it up using alta vista AZ is one of 11 states to allow MM. If I were you I'd find a dr. in an urban area who has prescribed/reccomended it in the past. Good luck.
