Medical Marijuana and Cystic Fibrosis

(Cystic Fibrosis is a terminal illness that causes a thick mucus to build up throughout your body, including in your lungs. Treatments for this disease are incredibly expensive with two of my medications costing over $2000 each for one monthly order. If I weren't insured I would surely be dead by now.)

I have Cystic Fibrosis and I've been smoking weed for the past two years or so. I bought a vaporizer after smoking a joint one night with my friends and it's been really great for my CF symptoms and general lung health. My lung function test results in general have been going up pretty drastically since I started vaping regularly and I've been putting on a lot of weight (a steady 120 pounds up from ~105). Basically, smoking weed has done a lot more for me in terms of improvement than I've seen with any of the other new medications my doctors keep pushing onto me. At this point I think it would be wise to legal-up and get my card but I haven't seen anything from what I've been reading as to people getting their cards for Cystic Fibrosis. I realize it probably looks bad because Cystic Fibrosis affects your lung function heavily (hence making smoking anything obviously dangerous) but the vaporizer solves that part of the problem.

In short, if anyone knows anything about medical marijuana and Cystic Fibrosis, I'd love to hear from you.
