Family Guy Episode on Pot Legalization

Up until very recently, the last episode of the current season, Season 7, was meant to be Something Something Darkside, the next Star Wars spoof. Now the last episode is titled "420" and it's plot line is "After Brian is arrested for drug possession, he launches a campaign to legalize marijuana. This is no doubt due to the sudden media surge.

Seth McFarlane has frequently included marijuana in his shows and they are never in much of a negative light. I am hoping that he is as pro pot as I think he is, and will use the huge fan base of Family Guy to spread a legalization message.

No matter what...the pot snowball just keeps getting bigger and bigger!

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has vowed to stop smoking marijuana because it makes him too paranoid.

When Brian gets busted for possession of marijuana, he starts a campaign to legalize the drug. Mayor West passes the law, which turns the townspeople into a bunch of potheads.

I'm kinda worried about the last part, "which turns the townspeople into a bunch of potheads." I have a feeling they may show some negative light on potheads. Hope I'm wrong though and as a HUGE fan of Family Guy, I can't wait for this episode.

They aren't super negative..I predict the "potheads" will all be red eyed people with the munchies. Nothing stupid, like killing themselves.

As much as I love family guy, I am going to be vastly disappointed if it portrays stoners as 'lazy' or 'stupid' or furthers any stoner stereotyping, or greatly over-states the effects of marijuana.

He'll probably make it sarcastic (like pretend to be anti-pot, similar to Colbert pretending to be ultra-conservative). For example, the whole town starts smoking "too much" pot and everyone gets the munchies and eats out the towns food supply... something random and exaggerated like that. But everyone will get the point.

There has been a lot of talk of legalization recently, and I hope it is leading somewhere. In reality it doesn't matter, but it certainly helps.
