Cuomo needs to hurry his ass up with that progressive marijuana legislation he was talking about a few days. Shit like this will just continue as long as the police have the law on their side. Another incident where the War on Drugs has done more harm than the "evil devil's weed" ever could. RIP kid.

For the third time in a week, an NYPD officer has shot and killed a suspect. Yesterday an unidentified officer killed 18-year-old Ramarley Graham with a single bullet to the chest. The officer, a member of the narcotics unit, had chased Graham into his home, seen him flush something down a toilet and reportedly saw him make "furtive" movements, apparently prompting the cop to fire. Graham—who lived with his mother, grandmother and 6-year-old brother—was immediately mourned by family and neighbors. "Nobody deserves to get shot like that, in your own house," his bereaved mother, Constance Malcolm, cried to reporters.
The shooting occurred after 3 p.m. at East 229th street in the Wakefield section of the Bronx, when police approached Graham after arresting two alleged drug dealers. According to one law-enforcement source Graham had "eight prior arrests, including burglary, robbery, dealing marijuana and other offenses." Reportedly a small amount of marijuana (the NYPD's favorite drug) was found in Graham's toilet. "Everybody’s kids get into trouble. He smoked a little weed, but you know, like all the little, young kids does," his mother explained last night. "And that’s what he had on him when they were chasing him."
After being shot, Graham was rushed to Montefiore Hospital and pronounced dead. According to police spokesman Paul Browne, the 30-year-old officer who shot the young man joined the force in July 2008 and has not been involved in any prior shootings. Browne said investigators were interviewing potential witnesses and the shooting remained under investigation. Not that that will bring Constance Malcolm's son back. "In the bathroom they shot him. My 6-year-old son was there and saw everything," Malcolm told reporters. "I’m going to get justice."
It has been a bloody week for the NYPD. In the last week police officers have been involved in two other fatal shootings.

A shame another person has died over a drug that does more good than harm, unlike t&a. Wake up America! Yes, you the elected officials that refuse to support the drive to improve and in this case save lives.

This is a god damn shame.. Glad shit like this doesnt happen where i live. Id find that bastard and put 6 hollow points in his torso just in that kids defense. Crazy how cops can do virtually anything, given that their word is automatically more valuable than everyone elses.. dammit.

So ridiculous. I feel so bad for that family too. And what the fuck potential witnesses would there be? Are you kidding me? He shot the guy in his fucking bathroom. That's some bullshit police rambling if I've ever seen it.

I feel really, really bad that the 6 year old kid had to see that, but I hope he's able to put the cop in prison. Although, death penalty seems more reasonable to me.

You guys, obviously the cop fucked up... but you act like you know the cop enjoyed killing a kid or something. It was a mistake, a deadly one, but acting like the cop should be brutally murdered for it is stupid.

I'm going to have to disagree. The kid was obviously flushing something down the toilet. The cop was close enough to do ANYTHING, as they were in the same bathroom. Pistol whipping him or something would've been one way to handle it if he truly felt threatened, but he had the guy cornered. The guy had no prior ARMED crimes, and even if he had, it's not like that cop recognized him, so I think it's stupid for them to have reported his 8 other run-ins regardless.

There was absolutely no reason to have shot him. If the one, 6 year old, witness tells me otherwise, I'll believe him. Until then, fuck the police. I've yet to see one do anything to make me feel safe.

Look I'm not saying what the cop did was right.

He definitely needs to be held responsible for what happened... but to act like any of us knows what it's like to be in the position of a police officer is silly. To want the man brutally murdered for what will probably haunt him for life... Come on, that's not the answer.

If it truly did haunt him for life, then I'd be happy with that as long as it was in addition to some sort of jail time or at least being kicked from the police force AND having a difficult time getting a job because of a criminal record. That would be fine. He doesn't necessarily need to die.

I know you're not saying what the cop did was right, but the way that I see it, the guy was trying to get away. The guy ran. He didn't fight, he fled. If a guy is fleeing, and you chase him into his house, that's your own damn fault. You've already taken it too far at that point. You don't run in there and shoot him.

im all against most cops. i believe the cop wouldnt have killed him on purpose, they are under a lot of pressure. can you imagine chasing someone and believing they wanted to kill you. the article should be about how miserable his life and the victims family will be.

The Avengers made 1.3 billion dollars so far. In that movie, Tony Stark asks the Hulk how he controls his anger, and suggests, "with a big bag of weed?"

Do you know how many people saw that movie?

Taking another life isn't going to fix the situation, but none of us know what kind of "furtive movements" were made.

If I had a gun pointed on someone that looked like they were making a move for a weapon of their own, damn right they'd get shot in the leg.

But the chest? Someone that can't think clearly on the spot shouldn't be given a gun.

why the fuck do cops think everyone is gonna attack them all the time. like fuck cops are usually the one to escalate a situation because there scared of beign attacked and in the process they make the first attack which should and is usually met with opposition then the cop escalates even further cause hes like oooo resisting arresst and someone gets killed.
